May bank holidays service update

    National Express West Midlands
    On Monday 6th and Monday 27th May 2024, we will be running the following timetables across all services due to the May bank holidays:Monday 6th May – Sunday timetables will run.Monday 27th May – Sunday timetables will run.

     

    National Rail Industrial Action

    ASLEF, the train drivers’ union, has announced strike action at West Midlands Trains on Wednesday 8 May, and an overtime ban between Monday 6 May and Saturday 11 May 2024. 

    There will be no West Midlands Railway trains operating on Wednesday 8 May 2024.

    Other regional train operators will also strike on different days during the announced period of strike action as follows:

    Avanti West Coast – Wednesday 8 May

    London North Western – Wednesday 8 May

    Chiltern Railways – Wednesday 8 May

    CrossCountry – Wednesday 8 May

    Note: Transport for Wales Railway are not affected by strike action,

     

    West Midlands Metro – Saturday 4 May to Sunday 5 May 2024

    The Metro will operate between Wolverhampton and Wednesbury Great Western Street only.

    There will be no services between Wednesbury and Edgbaston Village.

    During the above closure, Metro tickets and passes will be valid on the following National Express (NX) bus services and West Midlands Rail services.

    • Service 79 between Wednesbury bus station and West Bromwich
    • Service 74 between West Bromwich and Birmingham City Centre
    • Service 47 between Wednesbury bus station and West Bromwich
    • Service 80 between West Bromwich and Five Ways
    • Service 101 between Handsworth and Colmore Row
    • All services between Colmore Row and Edgbaston
    • Metro season tickets will also be accepted on West Midlands Railway train services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham (including any station served along this route, between these stops) and The Hawthorns, Jewellery Quarter, Snow Hill and Five Ways.

    *The timetable for these services has been enhanced to provide a more frequent service and include a connecting service for the first and last tram times.
