Latest Strikes & Disruptions Update

    Industrial action to affect many National Rail services between Friday 1 and Saturday 9 December 

    Strike action has been announced by the ASLEF Union for the following train operators on the following days:

    • Saturday 2 December – East Midlands Railway and LNER

    • Sunday 3 December – Avanti West Coast, Chiltern Railways, Great NorthernLondon Northwestern Railway, Thameslink and West Midlands Railway

    • Tuesday 5 December – c2c and Greater Anglia (including Stansted Express)

    • Wednesday 6 December – Gatwick Express, South Western Railway (including Island Line), Southeastern and Southern

    • Thursday 7 December – CrossCountry, Great Western Railway and Heathrow Express

    • Friday 8 December – Northern and TransPennine Express

    In addition, the ASLEF Union have implemented an overtime ban between Friday 1 December and Saturday 9 December. Some of the above operators service will be affected additionally on those dates.

     

    Affected Train Services in West Midlands:

    • Coventry Via Birmingham International
    • Cross City
    • Hereford Via Worcester
    • Nuneaton – Coventry – Leamington Spa
    • Shrewsbury Via Telford
    • Snow Hill
    • Stourbridge Junction To Stourbridge Town
    • Walsall
    • Wolverhampton

     

    National Express West Midlands

    Kingswinford Christmas light switch on event
    • From 1pm to 9pm approximately, on Sunday 3rd December, Market Street will be closed for the Christmas light switch on event. During this time, service 16 will be diverted.

    Heading to Stourbridge

    • Buses will divert from Moss Grove via High Street, Standhills Road, The Portway, and High Street to rejoin the normal line of route.

    Heading to Wolverhampton

    • Buses will follow the reverse of the above route.
