The following are the significant changes to our public transport services for this coming week so you can plan ahead for your commute like a PRO!
1. Changes to LRT Ampang & Sri Petaling Line due to Civil Structure Failure near Bandaraya Station
Due to a crack in the pillar supporting the track viaduct in between Masjid Jamek & Bandaraya was found on 27 January 2023, all services on the LRT Ampang Line & LRT Sri Petaling Line will be running on the following arrangement
- Services from Ampang & Sri Petaling will terminate at Hang Tuah
- Services from Sentul Timur will terminate at Bandaraya
- Shuttle service serving Hang Tuah, Plaza Rakyat, & Masjid Jamek will run to connect passengers between these stations
- Rail Replacement Bus available for the following sectors
- LRT 9: Hang Tuah Station – Bandaraya Station
- LRT 10: Masjid Jamek Station – Bandaraya Station
2. LRT 11 Rail Replacement Shuttle Activated
Following the civil structure failure on the LRT Ampang Line & Sri Petaling Line caused the trains serving between Bandaraya & Sentul Timur to be unable to return to the depot for routine maintenance, plus repeated technical faults on 2 of the trains causing it unfit for passenger service, the shuttle train service between Bandaraya & Sentul Timur will now run with remaining 2 trainsets in the section on a rotational basis and with 24-minute frequency.
As a result, RapidKL activated shuttle service LRT11 to connect passengers travelling between Bandara & Sentul Timur with exception of Sultan Ismail Station. Passengers who with to go to Sultan Ismail Station can take another bus service and/or plan their journey to Medan Tuanku Monorail Station which is 5 minute’s walk away.
3. Free Rides on Putrajaya Line
To celebrate the occasion of the complete opening of MRT Putrajaya Line, all the rides from/to Putrajaya Line’s 36 stations are free of charge, along with all the Putrajaya Line MRT Feeder Bus service.
Users will need to either tap their Touch n Go card as usual or redeem a free travel token from the customer service counter at the station. Do note that MRT Feeder Bus only accept Touch n Go card.
Those who have an active My50 subscriptions, they are entitled to 15 days of extra validity on their next renewal of My50. Renewal between 1st April to 31st April at any Putrajaya Line Station will entitled for the said extra validity.
