Plan ahead this weekend! Transport for London (TfL) has announced several service closures, maintenance works, and road disruptions that may affect your travel.
Below are the service-related changes you need to know to navigate London:
London Underground
Central Line
- Track work in progress.
- Friday 25 Sept (Night Tube into Saturday 26 Sept): No service between Marble Arch and Loughton/Hainault (via Newbury Park). Use alternative Night Tube or Night Bus routes.
- Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 Sept: No service between Liverpool Street and Woodford/Newbury Park (including Saturday Night Tube). Use alternative Tube or local/replacement buses.
Piccadilly Line
- Piccadilly Line Upgrade work.
- Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 Sept: No service between Cockfosters and Uxbridge (including Friday & Saturday Night Tube).
- Alternatives:
- Piccadilly line trains still run between Acton Town and Heathrow.
- For Central London to Heathrow, use the Elizabeth line.
- Between Cockfosters and Uxbridge, use alternative Tube, London Overground, or local/replacement buses.
London Overground
Lioness Line
- Sunday 27 Sept: No service between Euston and Kilburn High Road until 12:00 and after 20:30 (Network Rail maintenance). Use Tube or local bus routes.
Mildmay Line
- Thursday 24 Sept: No westbound service from Camden Road to Willesden Junction after 23:45.
- Thursday 24 & Friday 25 Sept: No southbound service from Willesden Junction to Shepherd’s Bush until 06:15 each morning.
- Sunday 27 Sept: No service between Camden Road and Stratford after 22:15.
Weaver Line
- Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 Sept: No service between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town/Cheshunt.
- Tottenham Hotspur Stadium visitors (Saturday): Use the Victoria line from Seven Sisters/Tottenham Hale, or Greater Anglia services to/from Northumberland Park.
- Sunday 27 Sept: No service between Liverpool Street and Chingford until 10:15.
- Monday 28 Sept – Thursday 1 Oct: No service between Hackney Downs and Chingford after 22:45 each night.
Windrush Line
- Sunday 27 Sept: No service between Wandsworth Road and Clapham Junction until 09:00. Services will call at Battersea Park instead. Use local buses or Southern Railway.
DLR
- Sunday 27 Sept: No service between Tower Gateway and Shadwell due to third-party works. Use Tube, Windrush line, or local buses.
Elizabeth Line
- Sunday 27 Sept:
- No service between West Drayton and Maidenhead until 09:00. Use National Rail or replacement buses.
- Reduced service between Paddington and Maidenhead/Heathrow after 08:15.
Bus & Road Adjustments
Buses are expected to run a good service overall, but delays, diversions, or short terminations may occur due to events and road closures:
- Friday 25 – Sunday 27 Sept (Central London Events): Extensive road closures and bus diversions around Royal Parks (St James’s Park, Green Park) and Central London (Holborn, City, Westminster) due to sporting events and a Sunday 10k run.
- Saturday 26 Sept (Marches): Delays expected between Marble Arch & Wellington Arch (12:00–17:00) and Embankment & Trafalgar Square.
- Sunday 27 Sept (West London Half-Marathon): Road closures from 06:00 to 13:00.
- Brixton Hill (A23 Works): Temporary traffic signals and lane restrictions between Holmewood Rd and Tierney Rd until late 2026. Delays expected; consider using A24 or A3.
- A41 Brent Cross Flyover & A406:
- Wed 30 Sept (22:00–05:00): A406 North Circular westbound closed after Brent Cross exit slip (traffic diverted via interchange).
- Thu 1 – Fri 2 Oct (22:00–05:00): A41 Hendon Way southbound closed (Vivian Ave to The Vale).
- Buses: Servicing Brent Cross as usual, but journeys may take longer or follow overnight diversions.
- A40 Westway Weekend Closures:
- Fri 2 Oct (22:00) – Mon 5 Oct (05:00): Eastbound closure between Westway Roundabout and Marylebone Flyover.
Santander Cycles
The following docking stations are closed/suspended over the weekend:
- Camley Street (Camden Town)
- Guildhouse Street (Victoria)
- Ladbroke Grove Central (Ladbroke Grove)
- Marylebone Lane (Marylebone)
