Heading out in London this weekend? Major public transport operators have announced several planned closures, engineering works, and event-related diversions across the network. Use this guide to plan your journey and avoid delays.
π London Underground
District Line (Sat 17 & Sun 18 Oct): No service between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway due to line upgrade works. Use alternative Tube, Elizabeth line, or local/replacement bus services.
Note: Piccadilly line trains will non-stop at Turnham Green and Acton Town.
Piccadilly Line (Sat 17 & Sun 18 Oct): No service between Hammersmith and Heathrow/Uxbridge, including during Friday and Saturday Night Tube. Use alternative Tube, Elizabeth line, or local/replacement buses. For travel between Central London and Heathrow, use the Elizabeth line.
π National Rail & Regional Trains
Gatwick Express & Southern Services (Sat 17 & Sun 18 Oct):
Saturday: Reduced Gatwick Express and Southern services running to/from Victoria; some trains diverted to/from London Bridge.
Sunday: No Southern or Gatwick Express services to/from Victoria all day. Use alternative National Rail services from Blackfriars or London Bridge for Gatwick Airport, Brighton, and the Sussex coast.
Southeastern services at Victoria are not affected.

Mildmay Line (Sun 18 Oct):
Until 11:15: No service between Gospel Oak and Stratford. Use Tube, Elizabeth line, or local/replacement buses.
After 22:15: No service between Camden Road and Stratford. Use Tube, Elizabeth line, or DLR.
Suffragette Line (Sun 18 Oct): No service between Barking and Barking Riverside all day. Use local bus route EL1.
Weaver Line:
Thu 15 Oct (after 22:45): No service between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town/Cheshunt.
Sat 17 & Sun 18 Oct: No service between Edmonton Green and Cheshunt. Use National Rail or replacement buses.
Windrush Line (Sun 18 Oct):
After 22:00: No service between Surrey Quays and New Cross. Travel via New Cross Gate (short walk) or use local buses.
After 22:15: No service between Dalston Junction and Highbury & Islington.

Sunday 18 October:
Trains will not stop at Acton Main Line, Hanwell, or West Ealing due to maintenance work. Use Tube, National Rail, or local bus routes.
Reduced service between Paddington and Maidenhead/Heathrow.

DLR (Sun 18 Oct): No service between Tower Gateway and Shadwell due to nearby construction. Use Tube, Windrush line, or local buses.

Waterloo Bridge Closure (Sun 18 Oct, 06:00β11:00): Closed for filming. Routes 1, 59, 68, 76, 139, 172, 176, 188, 243, 341, and SL6 will be diverted.
Central London March (Sat 17 Oct, 12:00β16:00): Marching from Westminster Cathedral to Brompton Oratory via Vauxhall Bridge Rd, Sloane St, and Brompton Rd. Local bus diversions and traffic delays expected.
Silverworks Island 10k (Sat 17 Oct, 15:00β23:00): Road closures including Connaught Bridge, Connaught Rd, Hartmann Rd, and Royal Albert Way starting at 17:00. Local bus diversions in place.
City of London (Sun 18 Oct, 07:00β19:00): Carthusian Street closed for filming with traffic holds on Aldersgate Street.
Major Highway Works
A40 Westway (Fri 16 Oct 22:00 β Mon 19 Oct 05:00): Eastbound closure between Westway Roundabout and Marylebone Flyover. Signed diversions in place.
M25 Junction 15 (Sat 17 Oct 20:00 β Sun 18 Oct 10:00): Anticlockwise crossover carriageway over M4 closed; diversion routed via M4 Junction 5.

Oxford Street Pedestrianisation (Starting Mon 26 Oct): Oxford St will become traffic-free between Orchard St and Great Portland St. Permanent bus re-routings begin phasing from 01:00 on Saturday 24 October, and buses will fully cease running through the traffic-free zone from 20:00 on Sunday 25 October.
