Easter Service Update for Greater Manchester
Manchester Metrolink
- All lines will operate at a 20-minute frequency over the Easter weekend. Operational times are:
- Friday 10 April – 6am to 10pm
- Saturday 11 April – 6am to 10pm.
- Sunday 12 April – 7am to 10pm.
- Monday 13 April – 6am to 10pm.
Rail
- Current Monday to Saturday emergency timetables will operate on Good Friday, Saturday 11 April and Easter Monday. Extensive engineering work will take place over the weekend across the network, which will mean bus replacement services on several routes.
- The following Northern services will operate on Easter Sunday:
- Wigan – Stalybridge via Bolton. Two hourly.
- Southport – Blackburn via Atherton and Todmorden. Split – hourly Southport – Manchester Victoria, three hourly Manchester Victoria – Blackburn via Todmorden.
- Stoke – Manchester Piccadilly. Six trips per day (WTT).
- Clitheroe – Manchester Victoria via Bolton. Hourly (WTT).
- Manchester Victoria – Leeds via Bradford Interchange. Hourly (WTT).
- Manchester Piccadilly – Chester via Altrincham. Two hourly (WTT).
- Manchester Piccadilly – Buxton. Two hourly.
- Manchester Piccadilly – Sheffield via New Mills. Two hourly.
- Manchester Piccadilly – Hadfield. Hourly (vice half hourly).
- Manchester Piccadilly – Crewe via Stockport. Two hourly.
Stagecoach
- A reduced Monday to Friday timetable will operate across the region until further notice. The timetables have been carefully created to ensure that critical routes are maintained wherever possible.
- The following service will not operate until further notice: 143, 147, 86N, 142N, 143N, 192N, 201N, 203N, 216N, 219N

- The following services will operate every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday: 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 23, 38, 50, 76, 86, 101, 111, 112, 118, 201, 216, 219, 250, 256, 314, 330, 347, 368, 383, 384, 007W.
- The following services will operate every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday: 142, 325.
- The following services will operate every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday: 43, 203.
- The following service will operate every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday: 192.
- The following services will not operate: 51, 143, 034A, 086N, 147, X58, X92.
- The 108 service will make two journeys a day, Monday to Saturday.
- There will also be minor changes to the following services:

Arriva
- Good Friday 10 April, Sunday 12 April, Monday 13 April – Current reduced Sunday timetables will apply.
- Saturday 11 April – Current reduced Saturdays timetables will apply.
Diamond
- Good Friday 10 April, Sunday 12 April, Monday 13 April.
- A reduced Sunday service will operate. Some services will operate a reduced service and other services will not operate at all.
- 8, 36, 68, 132, 163, 471, 501, 575, 582 services are running to special timetables.
- VH1, VH2, 9, 19, 29, 34, 84A, 95, 245, 260, 272, 281, 282, 283, 284, 285, 286, 287, 516, 576, 583, 584, 640, 641, 715 are running normal Sunday times.
- 2, 37, 472, 474, 507, 524, 561, 562 will not operate.
- Saturday 11 April
- The Covid-19 Special Service timetables will operate.
Go North West
- Easter timetable on Good Friday 10 April, Sunday 12 April, Monday 13 April.
- Saturday 11th April – Current reduced Saturdays timetables will apply.
D&G Bus
- There will be no service on the 88 and 288 on Good Friday, Easter Sunday or Easter Monday.
Arriva North West
- Emergency timetables are in place on the following services: 1, 2, 2A, 3, 4, 6, 6E, 9, 10, 19, 21, 21A, 29, 31A, 34, 37A, 38, 84, 245, 247, 263, 320, 352, 360, 362, 375, 395, 484, 501, 507, 510, 534, 541, 561, 562, 575 and X30.
First Manchester
- A Sunday-type service is in operation on most routes with earlier start times for key workers during Monday to Saturdays and an hourly evening service on the 59, 83 and 84.
First West Yorkshire
- Special timetables are in operation on services 588/9 and 590 in Rochdale.
- The special timetables will run on Good Friday, with service 590 running to a revised Sunday timetable on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
Goodwins
- There will be no service on the 84A and 521 on Good Friday, Easter Sunday or Easter Monday.
- Services 84A and 521 will be reduced to every two hours from Tuesday 14 April.
Hattons
- Service 613 (Wigan to New Springs) has been suspended.
Tyrer’s
- Revised timetables are in operation on services 90, 512, 516, 584 and 694.
- Service 513 is suspended.
- Sunday timetables will be in operation on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
TransDev Rosso
- 464 reduced to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday and hourly on Sunday.
- 468, 469, 481/483 reduced to every 30 minutes.
- 457 suspended.
TransDev Blackburn
- The X41 has been reduced to an hourly service during the daily daytime. The last bus from Manchester departs at 8.15pm Monday to Friday, 9.05pm on Saturday and 6.45pm on Sunday/Bank Holidays.
- The number 1 service, between Bolton and Darwen, has been reduced to an hourly service, increasing to half hourly between Darwen and Blackburn.
TransDev Burnley
- From Monday to Saturday the X43 will run every 30 minutes between Manchester and Burnley, extending to Skipton hourly. The last service from Manchester to Burnley will depart at 11pm. On a Sunday, it will run every hour between Manchester, Burnley and Skipton. The last service from Manchester to Burnley will depart at 10pm.
Vantage
- A special timetable is in operation on service V1/2.
Local Link
- Due to driver shortage the following Local Link services are currently suspended:
- East Bolton
- Deane and Daubhill
- Ramsbottom and Tottington.
199 Skyline, Transpeak and 185/186 services
- High Peak are operating reduced service levels on the 199 Skyline, Transpeak and 185/186 services, until further notice:
- 199 Buxton to Manchester Airport will operate to a modified Sunday service Monday to Saturday. On Sundays the service will operate to a Sunday timetable with an early finish. Transpeak Buxton to Derby will operate to a daily reduced service level between Buxton and Matlock only. There will be connections with the train at Matlock and Derbyshire Wayfarer tickets purchased on bus will be valid on the trains through to Derby.
- 185/186 Burlow to Fairfield will operate as normal Monday to Saturday, except the evening round trip to Burlow and Harpur Hill will not operate.
Travel Assist
- Services TA01/2 have been suspended.
Jim Stones
- 588 has been reduced to a single journey from Leigh, departing at 7.46am.
- 593 has been cancelled.
Stotts
- There will be no 341, 364, 396 or 407 services on Good Friday, Easter Sunday or Easter Monday.
- Services 341, 364, 396 and 407 will be reduced to every two hours from Tuesday 14 April.
Manchester Community Transport
- Revised timetables are in operation. Sunday timetables will be in operation on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
First West Yorkshire
- Temporary timetables are now in place on the 490, 588, 589 and 590 routes.
Stagecoach Lancashire
- Revised timtables are now in place on the 113 Preston – Wigan and 125 Preston – Chorley – Bolton service.
Warrington’s Own Buses
- A reduced frequency is in operation on the CAT5, 19 and 28A.
