Bus reroutes and missed stops due the Seafair Air Show
I-90 Closure for Seafair Air Show practice, Thursday, 8/2
- 9:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. – approx. 5 hours
I-90 Closures for Seafair Air Show Friday, 8/3, Saturday, 8/4 and Sunday 8/5
- 12:30 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. – approx. 2 hours
Traffic in the I-90 corridor is at a standstill during and around these times.
– Plan transit trips accordingly;
– Expect delays, or
– Use alternate routes
King County Metro:
Although there are I-90 closures Thursday through Sunday, Metro routes 212, 216 & 218 are only affected on Thursday, and only the last few trips headed into downtown Seattle
will be rerouted.
There is NO service between downtown Seattle and Mercer Island when the I-90 bridge is closed.
- For service to or from Mercer Island, transfer to the Mercer Island shuttle at the Eastgate P&R. The shuttle will operate Thursday through Sunday. Transit service will serve the
Eastgate P&R during these times. The Rainier Av S Freeway Station on I-90 will not be
served. - For service between Rainier Av S and downtown Seattle, ride Metro routes 7 or 106.
Sound Transit:
ST Express routes 550 and 554 will experience significant delays due to the reroute in service during the I-90 closures for the Seafair Air Show practice and events from Thursday, August 3 through Sunday, August 6. Any traffic on the I-90 corridor at the time of the closure will be at a standstill during the below times. Start and end times are subject to change.
ST Express 550 – Eastbound to Bellevue
Missed Stops:
- Rainier Freeway Station
- Mercer Island P&R
Use Stops
- All regularly posted stops in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel
- Eastgate P&R – Bay 1
- All regularly posted stops in Bellevue
EB ST Express 550 will travel from Seattle to Eastgate P&R via SR-520 before continuing on to the Belleuve stops. Riders needing to get to Mercer Island should exit at Eastgate P&R and take King County Metro Mercer Island Shuttle.
ST Express 550 – Westbound to Seattle

- Rainer Freeway Station
Use Stops:
- All regularly posted stops in Bellevue
- Eastgate P&R – Bay 1
- All regularly posted stops in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel
WB ST Express 550 will travel from Bellevue to the Eastgate P&R. Then from Eastgate P&R to Seattle via SR-520. Riders needing to get to Mercer Island should exit at Eastgate P&R and take King County Metro Mercer Island Shuttle.
