The 250th anniversary celebration of the American Revolution commemorates the historic battles of Concord and Lexington. Celebratory 250th events are scheduled April 1 – April 21, 2025, across the towns of Arlington, Concord, Lexington, and Lincoln, as well as at Minuteman National Historical Park.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) will support Massachusetts250 events by offering increased service to and from Arlington, Lexington, Concord, and Lincoln, among other towns, April 19-20, 2025.
Commuter Rail
There will be a special Commuter Rail schedule for Saturday, April 19, 2025. Additional trains will be added to the regular Fitchburg Line — which serves towns such as Lincoln and Concord — to accommodate increased ridership. No bikes will be allowed onboard at this time.

Bus Service
All MBTA buses are accessible, and riders can read the bus access guide for more information. On the weekend of April 19-20, bus service will be adjusted to meet the demands of Patriots’ Day weekend. Detailed bus detour information will be available soon at mbta.com/alerts.
Arlington:
Multiple bus routes serve Arlington on weekends, including Routes 62/76, 77, 78, 80, 87, 95, and 350.
- Route 77 offers the most frequent service, serving Massachusetts Avenue between Arlington Heights and Harvard.
- Starting April 6, 2025, Route 77 will improve to every 15 minutes or better for most of the day on weekends.
- On Sunday, April 20, 2025, roadway closures in Arlington Center will detour Routes 77, 80, 95, and 350.
Lexington:
Route 62/76 serves Lexington on Saturdays.
- On Saturday, April 19, 2025, extra service will operate between Lexington Center and Alewife on Route 62/76 via Arlington.
- From 5:10 AM until 7 PM, service will run every 20-22 minutes or less.
- Detours will be in effect due to roadway closures.
Celebration Events
Arlington
Arlington’s 250th celebration events include a major reenactment of the historic Battle of Menotomy, the Menotomy Beer Hall, tours of the Jason Russell House, the annual reenactment of the ride of Paul Revere and William Dawes, a celebration at the Cyrus Dallin Art Museum, and more.
Concord
Concord’s 250th celebration events include a Dawn Salute, parade, Old North Bridge ceremony, Patriots light drone show, and more. The Concord Museum will have free admission all day, Saturday, April 19th.
Lexington
Lexington’s 250th celebration takes place April 17 through April 22. Signature events include the reenactment of Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride, the reenactment of the Battle of Lexington, Battle Green re-dedication, the 111th Patriots’ Day 5-mile road race, Patriots’ Day parade, Lexington bicentennial band concert, and more.
Lincoln
Lincoln’s 250th celebration events include a reenactment of the Lincoln alarm and muster, and a dawn tribute and march to Concord.
Minute Man National Historical Park
Minute Man National Historical Park 250th celebration events include the Battle Road tactical demonstration, a living history activities featuring hundreds of volunteer reenactors with events happening across the park.
