Moovit is continually updating our transport data in order to provide you with accurate information on Coronavirus-related service changes.
Public transport is currently restricted to essential travel only which is for the purpose of buying food or medicines, going to medical appointments, and for carers and essential workers.
Everyone is now advised to wear a face covering in some situations, for example in shops or on busy public transport. Wearing of cloth face coverings may help prevent people who do not know they have the virus from spreading it to others. Guidance on safe use of face coverings can be accessed here.
It is advised to use your TFI Leap Card to pay for your trip where possible.

Revised public transport timetables are currently operating:
- Revised timetables for Iarnród Éireann came into effect on Monday March 30th.
- Revised timetables for Dublin Bus, Go-Ahead Ireland and Bus Éireann came into effect on Wednesday April 1st. The revised bus timetables are based on regular Saturday schedules, augmented by additional services, particularly in the early morning.
- Luas services are operating a normal service pattern.
Local Link evening services on Door to Door routes (DRT) are currently suspended. These resources are being redeployed to the delivery of community support service for passengers who need medical and food supplies within rural areas, in particular the elderly, the vulnerable, and the sick. All other Local Link services are continuing to operate.
As always, please continue to be considerate to one another when using public transport, take sensible precautions like regular hand-washing and remember to cough/sneeze into your elbow. Staying at home is the best way to minimise the risk of COVID-19 to your friends, families and communities. TFI and public transport operators continue to follow all public health guidelines issued by the Chief Medical Officer and the HSE. It is important to ensure you are well-informed.

Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail
Rail services will not operate on the following routes from Monday 30th March until further notice:
- Waterford to Limerick Junction
- Limerick to Ballybrophy (via Nenagh)
- Additionally, M3 Parkway to Clonsilla services will not operate on Saturdays and Sundays from Saturday 28th March until further notice.
- Ballina – Manulla services will be updated Monday 30th March. Weekday services from Ballina depart 09:35, 13:00, 14:55 and 20:27. Customers’ looking to book to/from Ballina for Monday or Tuesday services should book to/from Westport. These tickets will be accepted on Ballina services
