WMATA Updates
Metrorail Updates:
- Metrorail operates from 5:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
- Red Line trains operate every 15 minutes, Orange, Silver, Blue, Yellow and Green line trains operate every 20 minutes. Stations served by multiple lines have more frequent service.
- Yellow Line trains operate between Huntington and National Airport only.
- Orange Line trains operate between Ballston and New Carrollton only.
- Free shuttle buses replace Green Line trains between Anacostia and L’Enfant Plaza. Navy Yard-Ballpark and Waterfront stations are closed.
- Weekend Service operates from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Red Line trains operate every 20 minutes, Orange, Silver, Blue, Yellow and Green line trains operate every 30 minutes.
- 19 of Metro’s 91 rail stations are closed until further notice.
- For your safety, customers should wear cloth face coverings on Metro
Green/Yellow Lines: Plan for 24/7 Trackwork (Buses Replace Trains) in June & July 2020
Week 3: June 21-27, 2020
Work zone #1:
End Date: June 27
Stations closed: Mt Vernon Square, Gallery Place (lower level) and Archives
Customer impact:
- Free shuttle buses replace trains between L’Enfant Plaza and Shaw-Howard U stations.
- Shuttle buses will make an intermediate stop at Gallery Place ONLY.
- No bus service at Archives or Mt Vernon Square, because these stations are already closed as part of Metro’s Covid-19 response.
- L’Enfant Plaza remains open for service toward Branch Ave only. No service toward Greenbelt, and no service. Trains on the lower level ( and ) will operate normally.
- Shaw-Howard U Station remains open for service toward Greenbelt only. No service.
Work zone #2:
End Date: June 27
Stations closed: None in this work zone
Customer impact:
- trains will operate between Huntington and National Airport ONLY. There will be no service in DC or Maryland. (Use instead.)
- Customers traveling between DC and Virginia should use the and transfer to the at L’Enfant Plaza, if necessary.
Metrobus Updates:
- Metrobus operates from 5:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on a Modified Sunday Schedule.
- Weekend schedules run from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

MTA/MDOT Updates
Local Bus Updates:
- Effective April 27, an additional 23 trips (177 in total) on the CityLink Blue, Gold, and Red, and LocalLink 53, 54, 56, 65, 67, 78, 80, 81, 85, and 89 will augment Saturday service schedules to better serve riders. For a complete list of supplemental service trips, click here.
- Effective April 18, 2020 at 7:00 a.m. to reduce the spread of COVID-19, all riders using public transit including local bus, light rail, metro subway, commuter bus, MARC Train, and Mobility/paratransit service are REQUIRED to wear face coverings.
LightRail Updates:
- On weekdays (Monday – Friday) Light Rail will operate on a Saturday schedule. Weekends will continue to operate on the Saturday schedule.

- Effective April 18, 2020 at 7:00 a.m. to reduce the spread of COVID-19, all riders using public transit including local bus, light rail, metro subway, commuter bus, MARC Train, and Mobility/paratransit service are REQUIRED to wear face coverings.
Metro Subway Updates:
- On weekdays (Monday – Friday) Metro Subway will operate on a Saturday schedule
- At the request of Johns Hopkins Hospital, the entrance to the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center from Johns Hopkins station is closed until further notice

Commuter Bus Updates:
- Commuter Bus is running on a reduced schedule until further notice
- Effective June 8, the following routes will operate on an “S” schedule: 201, 203, 204, 210, 215, 220, 230, 240, 250, 260, 305, 310, 315, 320, 325, 335, 345, 410, 411, 420, 505, 515, 610, 620, 630, 640, 650, 705, 715, 725, 735, 810, 820, 830, 840, 850. Please check your route’s schedule for specific trips that will operate.
- Service reductions will be implemented on the following routes. Only specified trips listed below will operate:
- Route 201 will only operate the odd-numbered trips, during both the Weekday and Weekend/Holiday schedule.
- Route 201 Weekday – 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33
- Route 201 Weekend – 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29

MARC Train Updates:
- effective, Monday June 8, 2020, MARC Train will return to operating on the published R schedules with limited supplemental service for the Penn, Camden, and Brunswick Lines. MARC trains undergo daily disinfecting including high passenger touchpoint areas. Each train has at least one restroom with a sink and soap and water so that passengers can wash their hands.
- Passengers are reminded that April monthly passes will be honored for travel in June. You do not need to exchange or replace your ticket – conductors will be instructed to honor April passes for the entire month of June. For passengers with a Transit Link Card, the April ticket will be honored in June for travel only on MARC Train, not Washington Metrorail.

Amtrak Updates
- While some services were reduced or suspended, Amtrak has and will continue to operate as an essential service as our nation recovers. In addition to the Acela and Northeast Regional, trains will be restored to service by monitoring demand, working with state partners, and continuing to prioritize customer and employee safety. Visit the Service Updates page for the latest information.
- To protect customers and employees, all customers in stations and on trains and thruway buses are required to wear a facial covering. Facial coverings can be removed when customers are eating in designated areas, in their private rooms, or seated alone or with a travel companion in their own pair of seats. Small children who are not able to maintain a facial covering are exempt from this requirement. Passengers must supply their own facial covering.
