π‘οΈ 1. Rail Suspensions & Timetable Reductions (East Midlands Railway)
Due to safety limits designed to prevent track buckling and fleet failures, significant changes have been made to both intercity and regional timetables.
Afternoon Line Suspensions (Daily from 12:00 Noon): Regional train services between Nottingham and Leicester (stopping service) and between Nottingham, Mansfield, and Worksop are entirely withdrawn every day from 12:00 noon. Rail-replacement bus services are operational on these lines for essential travellers only.
Intercity Services (London St Pancras International Corridors): EMR is operating a heavily reduced Intercity network. Trains running through Leicester, Loughborough, Derby, and Nottingham are subject to short-notice cancellations and severe speed restrictions, resulting in extended transit times.
Travel Window Advice: If travel is absolutely unavoidable, passengers are strongly urged to complete their journeys before 12:00 noon when track temperatures are lower.
π 2. Local Urban Network Status (Nottingham, Leicester, Derby)
Bus Networks (NCT, Trentbarton, First): Local municipal operators are fully functional but are experiencing localized delays due to heavy traffic congestion and displaced rail passengers. In Nottingham, overnight resurfacing works on Arnold Lane and daytime roadworks on Loughborough Road are causing localized delays.
Derby to Crewe Engineering Block: On Saturday 11 July and Sunday 12 July, planned engineering works mean that buses will completely replace trains between Derby and Uttoxeter / Crewe.
