Starting February, public-transit fares will be reduced

šŸ”œ Reduced public-transit faresĀ 

Starting February 1st, public-transit fares (buses and trains) will be reduced by an average of 2.5%, according to new guidelines of the Ministry of Transportation.

The new fares will be rounded to the nearest half-shekel and accordingly, changes will apply to the urban single-ride tickets. For example, a single ticket in Ashdod will cost 3.5 Shekels instead of 3.7 Shekels and a ticket in the Tel Aviv cluster will cost 6 Shekels instead of 5.9 Shekels. Find out more here.


šŸ‘“ Eligibility for Senior Citizen profile

Starting February 1st, the age of ā€œSenior Citizenā€ rider profile will be adjusted according to the Senior Citizens Law and will stand on 67 for men and 62 for women. Note that passengers who have already issued a ā€œSenior Citizenā€ profile in advance will continue to enjoy a 50% discount on public transport and that the new guideline is relevant for newly issued profiles starting February 1.


šŸš§ Changes and improvements to public-transit lines in Tel Aviv-Yafo

Due to construction works of the light rail and additional works on Arlozorov, Ibn Gvirol, Ben Yehuda and Dizengoff streets, starting next Friday, January 29, there will be changes in traffic that will include diversion of many public transportation lines in the area. The works are expected to last between 6-9 months. Schedules and routes will be updated in Moovit closer to the date of the changes and additional info can be found here.

We remind you, that in accordance with the Ministries of Health and Transportation guidelines, it is mandatory to wear a face mask in every ride and not use any public transportation line if having illness symptoms.
