Wesak Day is celebration of the birth, enlightenment and passing of Gautama Buddha, this day Buddhist around the world commemorate this day by offering prayers and gather at temples for meditation, offering food and doing good deed.

There will be heavy traffic in conjunction with the Wesak Day Celebration around Malaysia Buddhist Association on 28th May 2018 (Monday), to 29th May 2018 (Tuesday) from 10am to 11pm. The expected heavy traffic will cause significant delays to the following route

Buses of these route mentioned above will experience significant delays and/or detour throughout the time.
❗Street Procession ❗
Besides heavy traffic, street procession is expected to take place on streets around Malaysia Buddhist Association and the following roads on 29th May 2018, starting at 6pm.
- Jalan Burma
- Jalan Kelawai
- Jalan Perak
- Jalan Macalister
- Lebuhraya Peel
- Jalan Anson
Buses with route through these roads will experience significant delays and/or detour as the procession is ongoing. Please do check with Rapid Penang for updated information of the closure.
