Service Changes on Jerusalem Day 2025 🇮🇱🕊

May 25, 2025

Dear riders,

We have collected several public transit changes that are worth getting to know related to Jerusalem Day which will take place on Monday, May 26th.

This year’s Jerusalem Day events will include, as every year, the traditional Flag March (Dance of Flags) on May 26th. As a result, road closures, traffic arrangements, and service changes in public transportation are expected.

🇮🇱 Flag March 26.05

The traditional Flag March is expected to take place on May 26, following the same route as in previous years — from central Jerusalem to the Western Wall, passing through the gates and alleys of the Old City.

Road closures will begin at 14:00 and last until approximately 19:00, affecting several major streets in the city, including: Ben Zvi, Bezalel, King George, Agron, Yitzhak Kariv, Shlomo HaMelech, Menashe Ben Yisrael, Hativat Yerushalayim, Tzanhanim, Handasa, IDF Tunnel, Haim Bar-Lev (southbound), and Sultan Suleiman (both directions).

Streets will gradually reopen as the march progresses. Public transportation in the area will operate on alternative routes.

🚊 Israel Railways

Ahead of Jerusalem Day, starting Sunday, May 25, train frequency will increase on the Modi’in Central – Pa’atei Modi’in – Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon line, with 14 additional trains operating daily.

During peak hours, service between Jerusalem and Modi’in will run twice per hour — double the current frequency.

🚌 Buses

Following the flag march that will take place on Monday, 26/05/25, between the hours of 14:00 and 23:00, and due to the blocking of central roads, traffic congestion is expected and public transport lines will be diverted to alternative roads.

Bus lines with route changes:

  • Egged – 34.
  • Superbus –  Lines 2, 38, 83, and 83A will not operate from 14:00 until the end of service.
Line 503 will not run between 14:00 and 21:00.
    Additional changes and skipped stops will occur on the following lines: 517, 509, 500, 163, 78, 77A, 77, 75, 74, 72, 71, 83A, 83, 38, 2.

It is recommended to plan your trip in advance 🚥. *There might be unexpected changes.*
