Latest Train Strikes & Weekend Travel Update

    Industrial action continues to affect some National Rail services until Friday 6 October

    The ASLEF Union have announced an overtime ban across the UK rail network from Monday 2 to Friday 6 October, with severely reduced services running.

    This is likely to significantly affect the following train companies:

    • c2c

    • Chiltern Railways

    • CrossCountry

    • East Midlands Railway

    • Gatwick Express

    • Great Northern

    • Greater Anglia (including Stansted Express)

    • London Northwestern Railway

    • South Western Railway (including Island Line)

    • Southern

    • Thameslink

    • West Midlands Railway

    Following yesterday’s strike action please remember to check your journey as services may be starting later than normal and may also be disrupted.

     

    London Underground industrial action suspended:

    Strike action by the RMT Union affecting London Underground services on Wednesday 4 and Friday 6 October has been called off. London Underground will be operating a normal service. However, please check before you travel on National Rail services as planned alterations as a result of the London Underground strike are likely to remain in place.

     

    Events at Tottenham Hotspur and Emirates Stadiums – Sunday 8 October
    On Sunday 8 October, there will be an NFL game taking place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and a football match at Emirates Stadium.

    Victoria line services between Euston and Walthamstow Central, and London Overground services between Liverpool Street and White Hart Lane are expected to be very busy between 10:00 and 14:30 and between 16:00 and 20:00. Buses serving Tottenham High Road will be subject to diversion.

    Finsbury Park, Highbury & Islington, Seven Sisters, Tottenham Hale and White Hart Lane stations will be very busy for much of the day due to being in close proximity to the events, with a queuing system in place to enter after the games

    Elizabeth Line

    Saturday 7 October

    • The last train from Heathrow Terminal 5 (at 00:07) will terminate at Ealing Broadway

    Sunday 8 October

    • No service between Paddington and Abbey Wood
    • No service between Paddington and Shenfield
    • No service between Paddington and Ealing Broadway until 07:45
    Piccadilly Line

    Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October

    • No service between South Harrow and Uxbridge

     

    Metropolitan Line

    Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October

    • No service between Wembley Park and Amersham/ Chesham/Uxbridge/Watford via Harrow-on-the-Hill
