London Weekend Travel Changes

    Here is your weekly travel update to help you get around London and the South East this weekend.

     

    Tube


    There will be no service on the entire Piccadilly line, on Sunday 24 February, between 0045 and 0630. Replacement bus services operate.

    Overground


    Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 February, no service between Romford and Upminster. Use buses 165, 248 and 370 instead.

     

    Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 February, no service between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction.

     

    Sunday 24 February, no London Overground service between Queen’s Park and Watford Junction. Use London Northwestern Railway services between Euston, Harrow & Wealdstone and Watford Junction, and replacement buses for local journeys between Harrow & Wealdstone and Watford Junction. Use Bakerloo line services between Queens Park and Harrow & Wealdstone.

     

    Sunday 24 February, until 1230, no service between South Tottenham and Barking. Replacement buses operate between Walthamstow Central and Barking.

     

    Saturday 23 February, reduced service between Gospel Oak and Barking. Trains will run every 15 to 30 minutes.

     

    Sunday 24 February until 12:30, reduced service between Gospel Oak and South Tottenham. After 12:30, reduced service between Gospel Oak and Barking. Trains will run every 15 to 30 minutes

     

    TfL Rail


    Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 February, no service between Liverpool Street and Shenfield. Replacement buses operate between Stratford and Romford, and between Newbury Park and Shenfield. Use Central line connections between Liverpool Street, Stratford and Newbury Park.

     

    Tram


    From Saturday 16 until Sunday 24 February there will be no trams between Addiscombe and Birkbeck/Elmers End due to planned bridge works at Blackhorse Lane. Replacement buses will operate between East Croydon and Birkbeck

     

    National Rail


    Disruptions due to improvement work between Three Bridges and Brighton

    Until the 24th February, no Gatwick Express, Southern or Thameslink trains will call at Balcombe, Haywards Heath, Wivelsfield, Burgess Hill, Hassocks, Preston Park, Plumpton, or Cooksbridge.

    Services between Brighton and Seaford/Eastbourne/Hastings and between Brighton and Littlehampton/Bognor Regis/Portsmouth/Southampton and services via the Arun Valley (via Crawley, Horsham, Arundel) will run to an amended timetable.

    There will be no through services between Eastbourne and London. Customers should travel via St Leonards Warrior Square and Southeastern services

     

    Reduced service at Harringay and Hornsey until 05:20 on Saturday 23 February

    As a result of this, Great Northern services  towards London Kings Cross will be unable to call at Harringay and Hornsey until after 05:20.

     

    Amended 01:40 London Kings Cross to Welwyn Garden City service on Sunday 24 February

    The 01:40 London Kings Cross to Welwyn Garden City service will depart earlier at 01:16. A replacement bus service will operate from Finsbury Park to Welwyn Garden City which will depart at 02:10

     

    No trains between London Kings Cross and Finsbury Park until 08:45 on Sunday 24 February

    This will affect Great Northern services between London Kings Cross and Hitchin / Peterborough / Cambridge, and Thameslink services between London Kings Cross and Stevenage / Hitchin / Peterborough / Cambridge / Kings Lynn. Customers with valid tickets can use London Underground services between London Kings Cross and Finsbury Park.

     

    Southern services will not run between Clapham Junction and Watford Junction / Milton Keynes Central on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 February

    Southern customers with valid tickets can use London Underground and London Northwestern Railway services between Shepherds Bush and Watford Junction / Milton Keynes Central.

     

    No c2c trains to / from London Liverpool Street on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 February

    Services to / from London Liverpool Street will be amended to run to / from London Fenchurch Street, and will additionally call at West Ham. London Fenchurch Street is within walking distance of London Liverpool Street. Valid tickets can be used on London Underground Jubilee Line or Docklands Light Railway services between West Ham and Stratford.

     

    Buses replace trains between Lewisham / Hither Green and Orpington on Saturday 23 February

    Buses will run in place of Southeastern trains between Lewisham, Hither Green and Orpington. The following changes will apply to the train service:

    • Services scheduled to run between London Charing Cross and Ramsgate / Dover Priory will be diverted to instead start from / terminate at London Victoria
    • Services scheduled to run between London Charing Cross and Hastings will divert around the engineering works via London Bridge and Orpington, and these services will run to an amended timetable
    • Stopping services between London Charing Cross and Tunbridge Wells will not run. Customers may instead use amended Southeastern services between London Victoria and Tonbridge.
    • Services scheduled to run between Grove Park and Bromley North will not run
    • A reduced service will operate to / from Hayes, with trains running only between London Charing Cross and Hayes. There will be no direct train from London Cannon Street.

     

    Buses replace trains to / from Burnham and Taplow on Saturday 23 February

    Great Western Railway trains after 23:00 will not call at Burnham or Taplow. Replacement buses will run between Slough and Burnham / Taplow to connect with train services.
