Transit agencies across the LA basin are offering extensive free service to ensure a safe night for everyone.
LA Metro (Bus & Rail): FREE service from 4:00 AM (Dec 31) to 3:00 AM (Jan 1).
Extended/All-Night Service: A, B, D, and E Lines will provide 24-hour rail service.
Late Night: C and K Lines will operate until 2:00 AM.
Foothill Transit: FREE service all day, starting from 4:00 AM on Dec 31 until 3:00 AM on Jan 1.
Long Beach Transit (LBT): FREE service after 5:00 PM on all routes.
Extended Hours: Late-night service until approximately 2:00 AM on select high-frequency routes (Lines 21, 61, 94, 111, 121, 174, 191).
Big Blue Bus (Santa Monica): FREE service after 9:00 PM until midnight on Jan 1.
OCTA (OC Bus): FREE service from 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM. Perfect for reaching Anaheim and Fullerton events.
LADOT (DASH & Commuter Express): FREE service all day on New Year’s Eve for all DASH and Commuter Express routes.
Metrolink: Operating on a regular weekday schedule. Use the $10 Holiday Pass for affordable travel.
New Year’s Day Service (Jan 1, 2026)
LA Metro: Operating on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. Regular fares resume at 3:00 AM.
Foothill Transit: Operating on a Weekend/Holiday schedule.
Long Beach Transit: Operating on a Sunday schedule.
Big Blue Bus: Operating on a Weekend schedule. Routes 5, 15, 16, 41, 44, and Rapid 10 will not operate.
OCTA: Operating on a Sunday/Holiday schedule.
LADOT: DASH and Commuter Express will NOT operate on New Year’s Day (with the exception of Commuter Express Route 142).
Metrolink: Operating on a Weekend schedule.
Note: No special early-morning Rose Parade service is provided this year; use Metro’s A Line for parade access.
