Here are some top tips for navigating transit during the holiday:

Peak Travel times are:
- Wednesday, Nov. 27 (just before Thanksgiving)
- Saturday, Nov. 30 (post-feast travels)
- Sunday, Dec. 1 (heading home from holiday visits)
Many Agencies operate holiday, alternative, or no service on the following days:
- Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 28
- Day after Thanksgiving, Friday, Nov. 29

🚍Plan Ahead & Take Public Transit to Thanksgiving!

- Use Moovit to plan your trip in advance to check for best travel options.
- Traveling out of your metropolitan area? No worries, Moovit includes Intercity options like Amtrak, Flixbus, & Megabus.
- Public transit is the cheapest option to and from the airport. Take LA Metro Bus, Metro C Line, Culver City Bus, Big Blue Bus, Torrance Transit, Beach Cities Transit and transfer to the LAX Pink Shuttle. Or hope on the FlyAway Shuttle to and from Union Station. Travelers coming from Antelope Valley, Orange County, Santa Barabara and Ventura County can catch the LAX orange Shuttle.
- Park & Ride – check park & ride options in your area to access hub stations and leave the car behind.

- If available pay for your ticket in advance to save hassle at the station
- Amtrak and other intercity services often require reservations during Thanksgiving. Book tickets as early as possible.

Thanksgiving Day Service by Agency
- Metro
- Metro will operate Sunday/Holiday service on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th, and will return to regular service on Friday, November 29th.
- Long Beach Transit
- Long Beach Transit will operate a Holiday Schedule (click for details) on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th, and will return to regular service on Friday, November 29th.
- OCTA
- OCTA will operate Sunday/Holiday service on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th, and will return to regular service on Friday, November 29th.
- Foothill Transit
- Foothill Transit will operate weekend service on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th, and will return to regular service on Friday, November 29th.
- LADOT
- On Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th there will be NO Dash Service, except for the following routes, which will operate a holiday schedule:
- DASH Chesterfield Square
- DASH El Sereno/City Terrace
- DASH Observatory/Los Feliz
- DASH Panorama City/Van Nuys
- DASH Pico Union/Echo Park
- DASH San Pedro
- DASH Southeast
- DASH Wilmington
- DASH Wilshire Center/Koreatown
- DASH service will resume on ALL DASH routes on Friday, November 29, 2024 under their current operating schedules.
- NO Commuter Express service on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2024 except for Route 142 that will operate on its current holiday schedule.
- On Friday, November 29, 2024, only Commuter Express routes 142 and 422 will be in service under their current operating schedules.
- On Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th there will be NO Dash Service, except for the following routes, which will operate a holiday schedule:
- Montebello Bus Lines
- Montebello Bus Lines will operate Holiday service (click for details) on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th, and will return to regular service on Friday, November 29th.
- Big Blue Bus
- Big Blue Bus will operate weekend service on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th, and will return to regular service on Friday, November 29th.
- Metrolink Trains
- Metrolink and Arrow trains will operate on their regular weekend schedules from Thanksgiving Day through Sunday, with service on the Ventura County, Antelope Valley, San Bernardino, Orange County, 91/Perris Valley, and Inland Empire-Orange County lines. The Riverside Line, which does not run on weekends, will also not operate on Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday.
- Metrolink is offering a $10 pass for Thanksgiving & Black Friday. On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, and “Black Friday,” Nov. 29, Metrolink’s $10 Holiday Pass provides unlimited travel on the day of purchase. The $10 Weekend Day Pass is available on Saturdays and Sundays, while kids 17 years of age and under ride for free on weekends with a paying adult. These promotions are also valid on Metrolink’s Arrow service, which connects San Bernardino and Redlands.
- During the peak Thanksgiving travel period, from Wednesday, Nov. 27, to Monday, Dec. 2, the Rail 2 Rail® program, which allows Metrolink Monthly Pass holders to also ride Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains within Ventura and Orange counties, will be temporarily suspended. Normal service under this program will resume on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
- Culver City Bus
- Culver City Bus will operate Weekend service on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th, and will return to regular service on Friday, November 29th.
- GTrans (City of Gardena)
- GTrans will operate Weekend service on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th, and will return to regular service on Friday, November 29th.
- The following agencies will have no service on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 28th, and resume regular service on Friday, November 29th:
