Additional Trips on Busy Lines: To meet rising demand, we’re adding more trips on multiple lines:

    Weekdays: Lines 14, 33, 55, 105, 108, 150, 164, 165, and 244.

    Saturdays: Lines 62 and 910.

Sundays: J Line (Line 910 between Harbor Gateway and El Monte)

New LAX/Metro Transit Center Opening Soon

Bus Lines 102, 111, 117, 120, 232 and 40 (Owl service) will be modified to serve the new station that will open in early 2025. The new station will serve the C and K Lines, as well as the LAX people mover when it eventually opens. The new LAX/Metro Transit Center will also replace the LAX City Bus Center and the Aviation/LAX Station bus transit center. The bus lines above will use the LAX City Bus Center as their terminus (including an extension of Line 120 to this location) until the LAX/Metro Transit Center opens and will have revised routes starting December 15 in the area near the City Bus Center.

Here are the changes by line:

Line 16 will revert to using 5th and 6th Streets at Los Angeles Street as the eastern end of this line, instead of 6th and Central in downtown Los Angeles. Timepoints will be added back into the schedule for Line 16 on weekdays. Line 18 will continue to serve 5th and 6th Streets between Los Angeles Street and Central Avenue with very frequent service.

Line 96 becomes Line 296 (Burbank – Chinatown via Riverside Dr)
Line 96 will be rerouted to terminate at the Lincoln/Cypress Station on the Metro A Line, following Riverside Drive, Figueroa Street and Avenue 26. This change will improve access for the Elysian Valley to the A Line that runs between Azusa, Pasadena, downtown L.A. and Long Beach. The line will also be renumbered from Line 96 to Line 296.

Line 152 will use new bus lanes now in operation from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays on Roscoe Bl in both directions in most areas between Coldwater Canyon Boulevard and Topanga Canyon Boulevard. The lanes will improve service reliability and reduce travel times for riders.

Lines 177 and 256 to become Pasadena Transit Lines 53 and 33

Metro Lines 177 and 256 will become part of the Pasadena Transit network, which will help them better integrate with the rest of the Pasadena Transit network:

Metro Line 177 (between Caltech in Pasadena and JPL in La Canada-Flintridge): This line will become Pasadena Transit Line 53, operating during weekday peak hours with the existing route, schedule and stops, but with Pasadena Transit buses, signage, and fares.

Metro Line 256 (between the A Line’s Sierra Madre Villa Station and Highland Park Station via Washington Boulevard: This line will transition to Pasadena Transit Line 33. Service frequency will be improved from every 50 minutes to every 35 minutes on weekdays. The existing route and stops will remain the same, but with Pasadena Transit buses, signage, and fares.

Line 260 (between Pasadena and the A Line’s Artesia Station via Atlantic Boulevard and Fair Oaks Avenue): Line 260 will be modified to improve connections to key regional destinations.

Every other trip on Line 260 on weekdays and weekends will now run to the A Line’s and C Line’s Imperial Highway Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station. The existing Line 260 service between Pasadena and Artesia Station via Atlantic Boulevard will be maintained but renumbered to Metro Bus Line 261. Passengers currently riding Line 260 on Fair Oaks, Atlantic and between Pasadena and Imperial Highway will be able to use either Line 260 or 261.

Line 601: Late-Night Connections: An extra round trip on Line 601 will be added on weekdays for better late-night service.

Line 662 (between Pasadena and Altadena): Line 662 will be modified slightly in downtown Pasadena to connect with other services and avoid delays, traveling via Colorado Boulevard, Fair Oaks Avenue, Green Street and Raymond Avenue.

Line 665 will improve from running every 50 minutes to every 35 minutes on weekdays to better connect destinations including the Rose Hill Transit Center, Cal State LA and Olympic Boulevard in East Los Angeles.

Adjusted Service Levels: the following lines will see a small reduction in the number of trips on weekdays and/or weekends as Metro aligns service levels with actual ridership: Lines 4, 20, 33, 40, 102, 106, 150, 164, 165, 180, 212, 217, 232, 265 and 910. The trips taken from these lines will be added to other lines with higher ridership.

G Line Improvements Project – Van Nuys Boulevard Grade Separation Detour: Starting on a date to be announced in early 2025, the Van Nuys G Line Station will be closed to allow for construction of a new aerial station over Van Nuys Boulevard. The new station will help the G Line avoid waiting at red lights on Van Nuys Blvd. and will improve safety.

While construction is underway, the G Line will be detoured to Oxnard Street between Sepulveda Boulevard and Woodman Avenue. The Van Nuys station will be temporarily relocated for about 18 months to Oxnard St at the intersection of Van Nuys Blvd.

East San Fernando Valley Rail Construction Begins – Van Nuys Bl Bus Stop Changes: Bus stop changes will be made on Van Nuys Boulevard between Sherman Way and Arminta Street due to construction of the East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Project that will run between Van Nuys and Pacoima. Buses will continue to stop at the intersections of Van Nuys Blvd/Sherman Way and Van Nuys Blvd/Keswick. However, bus stops at Van Nuys/Saticoy and Van Nuys/Valerio will be closed for up to three years. This will impact riders on Metro Lines 169 and 233.

Rail Service Changes: Please note that the C and K Lines were reconfigured on November 3 and a new station opened at Aviation/Century. The new LAX/Metro Transit Center will open in early 2025 — we’ll have an exact date soon. Additionally, evening trip times will be modified on the Metro E Line for better connections to the Metro K Line.
