Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, the Maccabiah Opening Ceremony will take place at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem. 🏆
As part of the preparations for high demand and expected traffic congestion, significant changes will be made to traffic arrangements and public transportation in the area.

⚠️ Traffic Arrangements
Starting at 12:00 PM: Derech David Banbanishti St. and David Ayalon St. will be closed to vehicular traffic.
Starting at 9:00 PM: Derech David Banbanishti St. will be closed in the section between Dov Yosef St. and Agudat Sport Beitar St. In addition, Agudat Sport Beitar St. will be closed in both directions.
Jerusalem Sports Center Visitors: Pedestrian access to the Sports Campus will be permitted. Entrance to the Sports Center itself will be routed through the Martial Arts Center.
Please note that additional changes and closures may occur based on Israel Police instructions on the day of the event.
🚄 Israel Railways
For the Maccabiah Opening Ceremony, two additional trains will be added to the regular service on the Herzliya – Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon line:
Train No. 8757: Will depart at 4:52 PM from Tel Aviv Savidor Central to Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon. The train will stop at: Tel Aviv HaShalom, Tel Aviv HaHagana, Ben Gurion Airport (Ben Gurion Airport Station), and Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon (final station).
Train No. 8759: Will depart at 5:10 PM from Herzliya to Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon. The train will stop at all Tel Aviv stations, Ben Gurion Airport (Ben Gurion Airport Station), and Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon (final station).
💡 Please note: A standby train will be stationed at Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon station and will be operated if needed based on demand.
