SF – Memorial Day & Carnaval 2025 Transit Updates

    Monday, May 26th, is Memorial Day, and the SF Carnaval is this weekend. We hope you enjoy your long weekend and the festivities. Check out all expected transit changes here:

    Memorial Day, May 26th, Service Changes

     🚌 Muni (SFMTA) Schedule:

    Operating on a Saturday schedule.

    • Service Alerts: Anticipate potential reroutes and delays, especially due to events like Carnaval San Francisco in the Mission District. San Francisco Chronicle

    🚆 BART Schedule:

    • Operating on a Sunday schedule.
    • Service Hours: 8:00 AM to midnight.
    • Evening Service: After 9:00 PM, service will be limited to the Yellow, Blue, and Orange lines.
    • Parking: Parking will be free at all stations except for Milpitas and Berryessa/North San Jose stations.

    🚍 SamTrans Schedule:

    • Operating on a Sunday schedule.

    🚌 VTA Schedule:

    • Operating on a Sunday schedule.

    🚌 AC Transit Schedule:

    • Operating on a Sunday schedule.

    Be aware of events that may cause additional transit disruptions:

    Presidio Memorial Day Observance: Ceremonies and events at the Presidio National Cemetery.

    USS Hornet Memorial Day Service: Events aboard the USS Hornet in Alameda.

    Get ready for the annual Carnaval Parade and Festival!

    The SF Carnaval Grand Parade is Sunday May 25th, 2025. The parade starts at 9:30 AM in the Mission District and Muni will reroute around the parade route.

    San Francisco Street Closures:

    These streets will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the parade, staging and takedown.

    • Mission between 15th and 24th streets
    • 15th St. between Mission and Alabama
    • 24th St. between York and Mission
    • Bryant between 17th St and Cesar Chavez
    • Harrison between 15th and 16th streets
    • Treat between Harrison and Alameda

    Muni Service Change:

    Several Muni routes will be temporarily rerouted between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. due to street closures affecting Duboce Avenue, 13th Street, and Division Street. These changes primarily affect service along Mission, Valencia, Folsom, Cesar Chavez, and Potrero corridors. Most routes will return to normal service by approximately 4 p.m., once streets are cleared.

    Key Details:

    • Reroutes will impact 12, 14, 14R, 22, 27, 33, 48, 49, 55, and 67 lines in both directions.
    • Riders should expect missed stops along Mission, Folsom, and Bryant Streets.
    • Temporary stops are being set up, mainly along Valencia and Potrero, to accommodate rerouted service.
    • Real-time alerts are available in Moovit or through SFMTA’s Email and Text Subscriptions page.
