Rates of the Versova-Ghatkopar Metro rail’s store value passes (SVP) and monthly trip passes (MTP) are increasing.
While SVP users will get a 2-10% discount, MTP holders will have to pay Rs 25-50 more, depending on the distance slab.
For 2-5km slab the MTP will be costing Rs 775, as against the earlier Rs 750, cost for 5-8km will be increasing to Rs 1,100 from Rs 1,050.
The cost for 8km will also be changing to Rs 1,375. Almost 60% commuters prefer using smart cards.
A Metro spokesperson said that by introducing cashback, they aim to increase number of people using smart cards up to 75%.
