Metro opens Pink Line from Lajpat Nagar to Mayur Vihar Pocket 1

    A total 29 trains will be operational on the Lajpat Nagar-Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 corridor of the Metro’s Pink Line

    The passenger services on the 9.7-km line which directly connects south and east Delhi started on New Year.

    As a result, this is the sixth time a metro corridor has been inaugurated this year.

    The work on the Phase-III of the DMRC has been almost completed with nearly 96 km of it being made operational this year.

    The new Pink line corridor has five stations 2 elevated and rest are underground.

    Trains will operate at peak hour frequency of 5 mins also during non-peak hours, frequency will be 6 mins.

    Hazrat Nizamuddin Metro station will become metro’s major transit hubs because it would provide direct connectivity with Nizamuddin Railway Station as well as the Sarai Kale Khan ISBT.

    Most noteworthy with opening of new section of Pink Line, total operational length of DMRC has increased to 327 km with 236 stations.
