Changes to 43 Metrobus routes will take place Sunday, December 17, 2023. These changes expand service along Metro’s highest ridership corridors in response to customer demand and to improve on-time performance across the region. New 24/7 bus service will be added in the District of Columbia operating every 20 minutes or better.
Highlights include:
- 24-hour bus service launches in DC seven days a week on 14 routes to improve access along the busiest travel corridors, including Alabama Avenue and Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue SE, Benning Road and H Street NE, and Georgia Avenue and 7th Street NW, among others;
- In Maryland, additional weekday morning service will operate from New Carrollton to Silver Spring on Route F4; and,
- In Virginia, additional Richmond Highway Express trips will serve the Fort Belvoir Post Exchange and Commissary during morning hours.
