    What’s in Store?

    🎄 Holiday Schedule Updates: Many agencies are offering alternative service for Christmas and New Year’s. As always, Moovit is updated. Plan your travels with our trip planner. We have also compiled a list of your favorite agencies below.

    🚌 Real-Time Arrivals: Traveling during the Holiday season can be hectic but Moovit helps you stay informed with Real-Time arrival updates that let you know exactly when your bus/train/subway is arriving.

    ⚠️ In-App Service Alerts: Don’t get caught by any last-minute service changes, stay informed with our in-app service alerts.

    Christmas & New Year’s Service for WMATA and MTA

    ⚬ WMATA

    • Metrorail and Metrobuses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day (12/24, 12/25, 12/31, 01/01)

    ⚬ MDOT/MTA

    • Local Bus: Sunday/Holiday Schedule on 12/25 and 01/01
    • Metro Subway: Sunday/Holiday Schedule on 12/25 and 01/01
    • Light Rail: Suspended until further notice
    • MARC Train:
      • Up to and including December 22, full MARC service.
      • Saturday, December 23, Regularly scheduled Saturday Penn Line service.
      • Sunday, December 24, Regularly scheduled Sunday Penn Line service
      • Monday, December 25, No MARC Train service.
      • Tuesday-Friday, December 26-29, R schedule on all three lines, R+ on the Brunswick Line.
      • Saturday, December 30,  Regularly scheduled Saturday Penn Line service.
      • Sunday, December 31, Regularly scheduled Sunday Penn Line service
      • Monday, January 1, No MARC Train service.
      • Tuesday, January 2,  full MARC Service on all three lines.
    • Commuter Bus:
      • Friday, December 22, we will operate a modified early PM schedule.
      • Monday, December 25, No service except the #201 will operate the Weekend/Holiday schedule.
      • Friday, December 29, we will operate a modified early PM schedule.
      • Monday, January 1, No service except the #201 will operate the Weekend/Holiday schedule.
    • Mobility Service:
      • Sunday/Holiday Schedule on Dec.25th & Jan.1st.  No subscription trips on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
        If you would like to ride on Christmas or New Year’s, call the Mobility Call Center, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 410-764-8181 to schedule a ride.
      • The Certification Office on Patterson Avenue & Customer Care Office:  Closed Dec. 25th and Jan. 1st, 2024
