Movement Control Order – Extended to 18th Feb

February 2, 2021

The Movement Control Order (MCO) had been extended to 18th February

Following the recent spike in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and number of death, which pushes our national health systems beyond its capacity. The government had announced that the MCO which had started since 13rd January will be extended to 18th February 2021

The whole country with exception of Sarawak will be affected.

    Will Public Transport Services Affected?

Most service providers, namely Rapid Bus (Klang Valley & Penang), Rapid Rail (MRT, LRT & Monorail in Klang Valley) had announced that service will be reduced and adjusted from time to time based on demand.

Service reduction has also been announced by the following service providers:

    Express Rail Link

Service is reduced to every 30minutes during peak hours and every 60minutes during off-peak hours during weekdays. The last train will be departing both KLIA 2 & KL Sentral at 10.10 pm, while weekend service will be reduced to once every hour

    KTM Komuter Service

14 trips on Seremban Line & 10 trips on Port Klang Line had been cancelled during weekdays, while 29 trips on Seremban Line & 48 trips on Port Klang Line had been cancelled during weekends.

There’s no service reduction on Padang Besar Line & Padang Rengas Line on Komuter Utara service.

    Penang Ferry Service

12 regular trip on the Penang Ferry Service on each side had been cancelled during the MCO. Last departure from Swettenham Pier is 9pm while the last departure from Butterworth is 8.30pm.

How long will I have to wait for my bus/train?

As MCO prohibits non-essential travels and cross-district travel, it is likely that the number of passengers will fall throughout this period and operators will be required to adjust their service frequency based on demand.

Apart from this, we support real-time arrival information on KTM (Komuter in Klang Valley & Penang ), Rapidbus (RapidKL & Rapid Penang buses, GoKL Buses, selected PJ City Bus, selected Smart Selangor routes, & Penang CAT routes). Real-time arrival information on KTM is available 60minutes from departure while Rapidbus real-time available once the bus had started its journey from the terminal station.

Note: Only travel if you absolutely needed. If you intend to travel beyond 10km radius of your house, do bring along documents from your employer and/or permit from the Royal Malaysian Police.
