Movement Control Order – Starts Today

January 12, 2021

The Movement Control Order (MCO) is returning today until 26th January 2021

Following the recent spike in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and number of death, which pushes our national health systems beyond its capacity. The government had announced another round of MCO for 5 states and the Federal Territories from today onward.

    The involved areas/states are:

    • Selangor
    • Penang
    • Melaka
    • Johor
    • Sabah
    • Federal Territories
      • Kuala Lumpur
      • Putrajaya
      • Labuan

    Will Public Transport Services Affected?

Most service providers, such as RapidBus (Klang Valley & Penang), RapidRail (Klang Valley), and KTMB (Klang Valley & Penang) had announced that there will be little to no change to their service tomorrow or until the National Security Council (MKN) announce any changes.

However, Express Rail Link, operator of KLIA Ekspres & KLIA Transit, had announced a reduction to their train service.  The last train will be departing both KLIA 2 & KL Sentral on 10.10 pm from 14th January 2021 (Thursday) while weekend service will be reduced to once every hour.

How long will I have to wait for my bus/train?

As MCO prohibits non-essential travels and cross-district travel, it is likely that the number of passengers will fall throughout this period and operators will be required to adjust their service frequency based on demand. We work closely with respective operators to get the latest information on changes to service updated in our app. You can get the latest service alert in our app, and when the changes is significant, we’ll announce it via push notification.

Apart from this, we support real-time arrival information on KTM (Komuter in Klang Valley & Penang ), Rapidbus (RapidKL & Rapid Penang buses, GoKL Buses, selected PJ City Bus, selected Smart Selangor routes, & Penang CAT routes). Real-time arrival information on KTM is available 60minutes from departure while Rapidbus real-time available once the bus had started its journey from the terminal station.

Note: Only travel if you absolutely needed. If you intend to travel beyond 10km radius of your house, do bring along documents from your employer and/or permit from the Royal Malaysian Police.
