MTA Subway and Bus Updates:
- Currently, Normal weekday and weekend subway service. MTA is ramping up to weekday service on most lines.
- There is no subway service from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. while the MTA disinfects trains and stations. The Staten Island Railway will continue running during this time.
- The 42 St Shuttle is not running. Use 7 service instead.
- MTA will be running an enhanced bus service between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. to help get essential workers where they need to go. If bus service is not an option, essential workers can use MTA’s Essential Connector program

- Staten Island Railway service is running more frequently now.
- On Weekends SIR trains operate:
- Every half hour from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Hourly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- On Weekdays SIR trains operate:
- Every 20 minutes during the rush hour periods
- Every 30 minutes during the midday/off-peak period
- Hourly from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- There is restored service on express buses
- Normal weekday school-closed bus schedules

MTA Subway Alerts/Service Changes
2 Train
- July 6 – 10, Monday to Friday, 10:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Flatbush Av-bound 2 service will run express from 241 St to E 180 St because of track maintenance.
- July 7 – 10, Tuesday to Friday, 12:01 AM to 1 AM, Downtown 2 service will stop at 66 St, 59 St-Columbus Circle, and 50 St because of electrical improvements.
- July 7 – 10, Tuesday to Friday, 12:01 AM to 1 AM, Uptown 2 service will skip 79 St and 86 St because of electrical improvements. Take the 1 instead. 2 service will run every 24 minutes.
3 Train
- July 6 – 10, Monday to Friday, 11:45 PM to 1 AM, Overnight 3 service will be suspended because of electrical improvements. Take M7, M102 buses and the 2. Use nearby M7/M102 stops between 135 St and 148 St. Take the 2 between 135 St and Times Sq. Transfer between buses and the 2 at 135 St.
4 Train
- July 7 & 9, Tuesday and Thursday, beginning 12:01 AM, Downtown 4 service will run local from Grand Central-42 St to Brooklyn Bridge because of signal maintenance.
- July 7 & 9, Tuesday and Thursday, beginning 12:01 AM, Uptown 4 service will run local from Grand Central-42 St to 125 St because of signal maintenance.
- July 8 & 10, Wednesday AND Friday, 12:01 AM to 1 AM, Downtown 4 service will run express from Grand Central-42 St to Brooklyn Bridge because of signal maintenance.
5 Train
- Downtown 5 service is skipping 138 St-Grand Concourse through Summer 2020.
6 Train
- July 7 – 8, Tue 11:45 PM to Wednesday, 1 AM & July 9 – 10, Thu 11:45 PM to Fri 1 AM, Downtown 6 service will run express from Grand Central-42 St to Brooklyn Bridge because of signal maintenance.
- July 6 – 7, Monday 11:45 PM to Tuesday, 1 AM & July 8 – 9, Wednesday 11:45 PM to Thursday 1 AM, Downtown 6 service will skip Longwood Ave, E 149 St, E 143 St, Cypress Ave, and Brook Ave because of signal maintenance.
- July 7 – 10, Tuesday to Friday, 12:01 AM to 1 AM, 6 service will run in two sections because of signal maintenance: 1. Between Pelham Bay Park and 125 St. 2. Between 125 St and Brooklyn Bridge. Transfer at 125 St to continue your trip.
7 Train
- July 6 – 10, Monday to Friday, 10:15 AM to 3 PM, Hudson Yards-bound 7 service will skip 111 St, 103 St, 90 St, and 82 St because of track replacement.
D Train
- July 6 – 8, Monday to Wednesday, 10:15 PM to 1 AM, 205 St-bound D trains will skip 155 St, 161 St-Yankee Stadium, 167 St, 170 St, and 174-175 Sts because of urgent track repairs.
F Train
- July 6 – 10, Monday to Friday, 9:45 PM to 1 AM Jamaica-bound F trains will be rerouted via the E after 47-50 Sts to Roosevelt Av because of electrical improvements. To 57 St, take the Jamaica-bound F to the nearby 5 Ave/53 St E station. Or, take the Q to nearby 57 St-7 Av via transfer at 34 St-Herald Sq. To Lexington Ave/63 St, take the Q via transfer at 34 St-Herald Sq. To Roosevelt Island and 21 St-Queensbridge, take the F to Roosevelt Ave and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F. From 57 St, Lexington Ave/63 St, Roosevelt Island, and 21 St-Queensbridge, take a Coney Island-bound F to 47-50 Sts and transfer to a Jamaica-bound F.
L Train
- July 7 – 10, Tuesday to Friday, 12:01 AM to 1 AM, L trains will run every 20 minutes because of communications improvements.
N Train
- July 6 – 10, Monday to Friday, 11:30 PM to 1 AM, N trains will not run between 8 Ave and 36 St, Brooklyn because of FASTRACK. Take the B63 and/or N shuttle trains. N trains will run in two sections:
- – 1. Between Ditmars Blvd and 36 St, and via the D to/from Stillwell Ave.
- – 2. Shuttle trains between 8 Ave and Stillwell Ave, every 15 minutes. Use nearby B63 stops for 36 St, 45 St, 53 St, and 59 St. Transfer between trains and B63 buses at 36 St. For stations between 8 Ave and 86 St, transfer between N and N shuttle trains at New Utrecht Ave/62 St.
Q Train
- July 6 – 9, Monday to Thursday, 11 PM to 11:59 PM, The last stop for some uptown Q trains will be 57 St-7 Av because of track maintenance. Transfer at 57 St-7 Av to complete your trip. Trains will run every 20 minutes between 57 St-7 Ave and 96 St.
R Train
- July 6 – 10, Monday to Friday, 11:30 PM to 1 AM, Overnight R service will be suspended because of FASTRACK. Take the B63, 4, D, N, and/or Q. Use nearby B63 stops between Bay Ridge-95 St and 36 St. For 25 St, Prospect Ave, 4 Av-9 St, Union St, and Atlantic Ave-Barclays Ctr, take the D or N. For DeKalb Ave, take the D, N, or Q. For Jay St-MetroTech, Court St, and Whitehall St, take a local N. Or, take the 4 to nearby Borough Hall or Bowling Green stations. Transfer at 36 St D/N/B63 bus or Atlantic Ave-Barclays Ctr 4/D/N/Q.
MTA Long Island Railroad Updates:
- Currently, More frequent service, including some weekday service to Long Island City and Hunterspoint Avenue.
- About 90% of regular weekday trains are resuming operation.
- Ticket offices at Penn Station, Jamaica Station, and Atlantic Terminal will reopen.
- July 11-12: No Weekend Train Service between Hicksville & New Hyde Park

MTA Metro-North Railroad Updates:
- More trains during peak hours. MTA is adding trains on the Harlem, Hudson, and New Haven lines during the morning and evening rush.
- The new schedule is a 115% increase in peak service
- Additional service as necessary.
- MTA is running hourly service during these times:
- Off-peak periods
- Midday
- Evenings
- Late nights
- Weekends
- Holidays
