Sendlinger Tor underground station – an important hub in Munich’s underground network – will be extensively refurbished, modernised, redesigned, barrier-free upgraded and extended by approx. 2023.
Please pay attention to the special timetables, destination displays and any sign posts at the affected lines. In general, we recommend to avoid the area wide-range – if possible – and allow more time for travelling.

Line U1
U1 is interrupted all day and runs Olympia-Einkaufszentrum ⇔ Central Station in a 10-minute headway and Kolumbusplatz ⇔ Mangfallplatz in a 12-minute headway. Please use U2 to link up between Central Station and Kolumbusplatz.
Line U2
U2 is divided all day at Central Station, running Feldmoching ⇔ Central Station in a 10-minute headway and Central Station ⇔ Messestadt Ost in a 12-minute headway.
Please note that you have to change trains in both directions at Central Station via the mezzanine level to continue your journey. Due to the 12-minute headway between Central Station and Messestadt Ost not all connections may be reached as usual.
Line U8
Amplification line U8 (Olympiazentrum ⇔ Neuperlach Zentrum) is not in service on the affected Saturdays. Please use U2, U3 and U5 for your journey.
Amplification tram U2
During the weekends with all-day closures (marked red in the calendar) amplification tram U2 runs (Ottostraße ⇔) Karlsplatz (Stachus) ⇔ Sendlinger Tor ⇔ Fraunhoferstraße ⇔ Ostfriedhof ⇔ Silberhornstraße ⇔ Wettersteinplatz from ca. 11:00 until 21:00 hrs. in a 10-minute headway.
Nightly connecting journeys (ca. 01:00 until 04:30 hrs.)
On the affected days the nightly connecting journeys also have to be adapted to the limited track availability.
Line U1
U1 is interrupted and runs Olympia-Einkaufszentrum ⇔ Central Station and Kolumbusplatz ⇔ Mangfallplatz. Please use U2 to link up between Central Station and Kolumbusplatz.
Line U2
Trains coming from Feldmoching terminate at Central Station, where we have to ask you to leave the train briefly. This is necessary to allow the opposite train to pass through towards Feldmoching. Afterwards the journey may be continued towards Messestadt Ost (from the same platform) with a delay of approx. 5 minutes. The connection at Sendlinger Tor to U3 ⇒ Fürstenried West and U6 ⇒ Klinikum Großhadern can thus not be reached, the connection at Innsbrucker Ring to U5 ⇒ Neuperlach Süd is ensured.
