New Service Updates & Alerts!

    WMATA 

    Major Alert:

    • Expect continued delays & reduced service on Metrorail until 2022 – It is recommended to check Metrobus alternatives.

    Metrorail Updates:

        • Metrorail operates on the following schedules – Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. – Friday, 5:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. – Saturday: 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m.- Sunday: 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m.
        • Reduced Service until further notice – continue to check app alerts for relevant updates & info.

    Weekday service info.

        • Red Line Trains – Trains will operate every 12 minutes while Shady Grove and Rockville stations are closed. Free shuttle buses every 10 minutes or less connecting to the rail system at Twinbrook.
        • Blue Line Trains – Monday through Thursday Trains will operate every 24-30 minutes. Friday, Trains every 24 minutes.
        • Orange Line Trains – Trains will operate every 24 minutes
        • Silver Line Trains – Trains will operate every 24 minutes w/6-car trains. Friday, after 9 p.m., trains operate between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only. Transfer to/from Orange Line to continue trip.
        • Yellow Line Trains – Trains will operate every 20 minutes
        • Green Line Trains – Trains will operate every 20 minutes

    Weekend service adjustments

        • Red Line Trains operate every 12 minutes. Shady Grove and Rockville stations closed. Free shuttle buses are provided.
        • Blue Line, Silver Line, Green Line, Yellow Line & Orange Line Trains operate every 20-30 minutes.

    Local Bus Updates & Alerts:

    LightRail Updates:

    • BWI Airport Terminal Restriction from 11:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. except for passengers and employees with official business until December 31, 2021 – more info. HERE
    • Regular weekday/weekend schedule is in effect

    • Routes 705 and 820 will temporarily operate reduced service until further notice due to driver shortages. The following Trips will NOT operate:

      Route 705
      AM: Trips 7 and 11
      PM: Trips 25 and 27

      Route 820
      AM: Trip 9
      PM: Trip 23
