On Sunday 7th September 2025, three 10K events taking place across the Greater Manchester region!
Altrincham
In Altrincham, runners will be racing from 9.30am starting on Stamford New Road near Bowden Station, and following a circular route via Hale Road, Shay Lane, Clay Lane, Grove Lane and Moss Lane. The start line is just 5 minutes’ walk from Altrincham tram stop, with services running every 15 minutes from the city centre.
From 6pm until midday, rolling road closures will been in place along the route to allow the event to take place safely, whilst bus routes in the area will be on diversion, from the start of service until midday.
Bury
At the same time over in Bury, runners will be preparing to race, with the Bury 10k beginning at The Rock where they’ll travel to Tottington via Bury Road, before going off road for the second leg and returning to Bury town centre for the finish.
Wigan
In Wigan, the 10k will start and finish in Mesnes Park and follow a route along Park Road, Woodhouse Lane and Stadium Way before looping back at the DW Stadium. Road closures will be in place along the route between 8am – 2.30pm on Sunday.
Elsewhere this week, it’s the T20 Blast quarter finals on Saturday at Emirates Old Trafford. Lancashire Lightning and Kent Spitfires battle it out to get one step closer to Edgbaston from 2.30pm.
