Getting to Parklife

June 6, 2016

Getting to Parklife by tram couldn’t be easier.

Extra trams will be running on 11 and 12 June from both Piccadilly and Victoria stations to the Heaton Park stop – where it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the festival site. If you catch the tram home after the festival you’ll need to use the nearby Bowker Vale stop as the Heaton Park stop will be closed from 9pm.

    What ticket should I buy?

Make sure you buy a Parklife Travel Pass that lets you either catch the tram or travel on the Parklife Express shuttle bus service that will be running from Aytoun Street in the city centre. Buy your pass in advance (£5 return for one day or £10 for the weekend) and you can save money on your ticket.

Be sure to exchange your e-ticket for a wristband before you board the tram as Parklife e-tickets are not valid on Metrolink services. You can also buy a range of Metrolink tickets from our on-stop ticket machines on the day. Just remember you must have a valid ticket or Parklife Travel Pass wristband before you catch the tram!

    Getting home

Heaton Park stop will be closed from 9pm so please use the Bowker Vale stop.Metrolink services into the city centre will be busy from around 9pm onwards so you should make sure you plan your journey home in advance and check the last tram times from the Bowker Vale.

Please give yourself plenty of time to catch a tram back into the city after you leave the festival, as services will be busy and you may have to wait to board your tram. If you’re catching a connecting train from the city centre, make sure you allow extra time so you don’t miss it.

    Park and Ride

If you’re driving there are Park & Ride facilities for Metrolink customers at our Bury Interchange, Radcliffe and Whitefield stops which offer a quick and easy way to our Heaton Park and Bowker Vale stops, both of which are within walking distance of the festival site.

They also provide a great pick-up or drop-off point if you can find someone kind enough to give you a lift. These Park & Ride facilities are free to use for Metrolink customers. On Saturday night only, you can even leave your car behind overnight at selected stops (including Bury, Radcliffe and Whitefield) as long as you pick it up by 12pm Sunday.
