Wirral Line:
Evening closure at Birkenhead North station car park between 1st – 5th August: The car park at Birkenhead North station will be closed between 2000 – 0500 for five nights from Monday 1st
August to Friday 5th August. This is to complete resurfacing works to phase two of the car park, which will provide a further 400 spaces. The existing car park, which was opened in 2013, has already proved to be a success and the second phase will bring the total number of spaces available to 670 which includes 34 disabled parking spaces.
The extension will make Birkenhead North the largest car park on the Merseyrail network in Merseyside and will support the regeneration of the area. It is expected to be complete and open by late summer this year.
Northern Line:
From Monday 18th July the ticket office at Fazakerley station will be closed for refurbishment for approximately 3 weeks. During this time there will be no lift access to either platform. The station will remain unstaffed throughout the duration of the refurbishment. The nearest station with disabled access is Aintree or Kirkby. Please buy your tickets in advance or at your destination station.
City Line:
On Sunday 31 July Network Rail will be carrying out work both directions between Southport/Kirkby – Manchester – Manchester Airport so a revised timetable will be in operation. Monday 1 to Thursday 4 August the 2309 Manchester Victoria to Liverpool Lime Street service, and the 2319 Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Victoria service will be replaced by bus.
