Sunday, May 8, through Saturday, May 21, 2016, we’re making much-needed improvements to MAX tracks, switches and equipment in Downtown Portland. Our goal is to make your ride smoother and to improve on-time performance.
During this time, all MAX lines will have reduced frequency. Fewer trains will be running, room onboard will be extremely limited and trains will be very crowded.
MAX Red and Blue line
Blue and Red Line trains will be detoured off 1st Avenue in Portland City Center, and run on the Transit Mall along 5th and 6th avenues. Shuttle buses will serve stops near 1st Avenue.
Only Blue Line trains will run on the westside between Hillsboro and Library/Galleria MAX stations. Trains will run about every 10 minutes during commuting hours, with capacity reduced by up to 50 percent. During other times, the Blue Line in this section will run about every 15 minutes, with about 30 percent less space on board.
MAX Green Line
Green Line trains will run only between Rose Quarter Transit Center and Clackamas Town Center. Trains will run about every 20 minutes and space will be reduced by about 30 percent.
MAX Orange and Yellow lines
Orange and Yellow lines will run on their regular routes, with reduced frequencies. Trains will run about every 20 minutes and space will be reduced by about 30 percent.
