April 23, 2025

The Redding Area Bus Authority (RABA), in proud partnership with Kool April Nites, is excited to announce free rides across its entire system on Saturday, April 26, in addition to a dedicated shuttle, making it easier than ever for residents and visitors to enjoy one of Redding’s favorite events.

RABA’s regular service includes 13 fixed routes, Runabout microtransit, and Demand Response transportation for individuals with disabilities. Service runs from 5:50 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., serving the communities of Redding, Shasta Lake, Anderson, Burney, Shingletown, and Palo Cedro. All routes connect passengers to the Downtown Passenger Terminal and at the Canby Road Transfer Facility next to Mt. Shasta Mall.

There will also be a free shuttle to connect passengers to the Big Kool April Nites Show departing from Gate 1 at the Downtown Passenger Terminal at 1530 Yuba Street, transporting riders from Redding to Redding Civic Auditorium between 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The shuttle will run every 15 – 20 minutes.

RABA would like to remind riders that Routes 4, 11, 14, and 15 will be delayed on Friday, April 26th, beginning at 4:20 p.m. due to increased traffic from the Kool April Nites Cruise and routes may be on detour. Additional details are available on the Transit or Moovit app or by calling 530.241.2877.

“Kool April Nites is a cherished tradition in our community, and we’re proud to play a role in making it accessible to everyone,” said John Andoh, RABA Transit Manager. “Whether you’re a long-time local or visiting for the show, our free rides and shuttle service offer a stress-free way to experience all the excitement.”
