Transit Updates for Rosh HaShanah 2024

Dear riders,

We have gathered updates for you regarding the expected changes in public transportation ahead of Rosh Hashanah, which will take place this week:

🚉 Changes in Israel Railways service

On Rosh Hashanah 5785, the trains will operate according to a designated schedule, which includes reinforcement of trains on the eve of the holy day and on the evening after the holy day, to allow for optimal train traffic during the holy day.

Rosh Hashana Eve, Wednesday, 2 October 2024

The trains will operate between the hours of 06:00-16:00 in an enhanced format, based on Friday schedules, plus a high-frequency train service of two trains every hour (instead of one every hour) on the Haifa-Tel Aviv line and the operation of a train service on the Be’er Sheva-Dimona line.

On Thursday, 3 October 2024 and Friday, 4 October 2024 – trains will not operate.

The evening after the holyday, Saturday night, 5 October 2024

The trains will be operated between the hours of 20:00-01:00, in an enhanced format, based on Saturday evening schedules, plus train service on the Be’er Sheva-Dimona line.


🚌 Changes in Bus service

On Rosh Hashanah Eve, October 2nd, buses will operate on a holiday schedule. 

On Rosh Hashanah, October 3-4, buses will not operate at all and will resume service at the end of the holiday, on October 5th.

* In East Jerusalem and the Arab sector, bus lines will operate as usual.

There will be an additional service on selected lines. In order to view the full schedules, type in the line number in the Lines tab.


🚌 Changes in the Metronit service in Haifa

Rosh Hashanah Eve, 02.10.24 – The Metronit will operate on a Friday schedule with service until 16:30.

Rosh Hashanah, 03.10.24 – The Metronit will not operate.

Rosh Hashanah, 04.10.24 – The Metronit will follow the Saturday schedule starting at 07:00 AM, with only lines 1 and 5A running.

Motzei Rosh Hashanah, 05.10.24 – The Metronit will operate on a Saturday schedule.


🚋 The Light Rail Dankal – The Red Line
On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, Wednesday, October 2nd, the last trains from the terminal stations will depart at the following times:

* Train R1 from the Komemiyut station in Bat Yam to the Petah Tikva Central Station will leave at 15:40.
* Train R2 from the Komemiyut station in Bat Yam to the Petah Tikva Kiryat Aryeh station will leave at 16:25.
* Train R1 from the Petah Tikva Central Station to the Komemiyut station in Bat Yam will leave at 15:40.
* Train R3 from the Elifelet station in Tel Aviv to the Petah Tikva Kiryat Aryeh station will leave at 16:55.
* Train R3 from the Petah Tikva Kiryat Aryeh station to the Elifelet station in Tel Aviv will leave at 16:50.
Train services will resume on the Saturday evening following Rosh Hashanah, October 5th, starting at 20:10.


🚍 Travel with Naim Busofash and Sababus Ramat Gan

The Naim Busofash lines (עיריית תל אביב-יפו) and the Sababus lines (עיריית רמת גן) will operate during the eve of Rosh Hashanah, Wednesday, October 2nd, and throughout Rosh Hashanah in a weekend schedule, in addition to Friday and Saturday!

🚌 Superbus Lines

On Rosh Hashanah Eve, September 15th, all the lines will operate on Friday’s schedule.

On Rosh Hashanah, September 16th, there will be no service, except for Metronit lines 1 and 5א.

On Motzei Rosh Hashanah, September 17th, the lines will operate on Saturday’s (Mozeti Shabbat) schedule.

Night lines in the valleys, 190, 191, and 193, will only operate on the evening of September 17, 2023.


🚌 Jerusalem – Departure points for intercity lines at the end of the holiday (Motzei Rosh HaShana):

Jerusalem is preparing for thousands of visitors, with an upgraded transportation system for the Western Wall, designated departure points after the holidays, and special traffic arrangements:

Line 414 (Egged) to Bnei Brak and Line 459 (Egged) to Ashdod – will operate at the departure point of Kiryat HaMada/Ha-Marpe.

Line 555 (Egged) to Arad – will operate at the departure point of Yeshivah Gur School/Yirmiyahu (there will be no pick-up along the regular route). In addition, on this day, from the beginning of service until the end of service, the following Egged lines will not pass at this stop: Line 64 to Ramot, Line 65 to Pisgat Ze’ev, Line 67 to Ramat Shlomo, and Line 68 to Har Hatzofim.

Line 556 (Egged) to Kiryat Gat – will operate at the departure point of Yirmiyahu/Minhat Yitshak (there will be no pick-up along the regular route).

Lines 637, 638, 639 (Tnufa) to Beit Shemesh – will operate at the departure point of Shefa Haim/Golda Meir Boulevard.

Line 983 (Nativ Express) to Hatzor – will run on a special route at specific hours.

Line 616 (Tnufa) to Beit Shemesh – will depart from Kiryat HaMada/Ha-Marpe Stop (the Hartum/Golda Meir stop will be canceled).

Lines 617, 619 (Tnufa) in the direction from Jerusalem to Beit Shemesh will be canceled (it is recommended to use the express lines 637, 638, 639).


🚌 Changes in Bus service

On Thursday, September 14th, 2023, from 17:00 to 23:00, the running event “Hoodies Singles RUN” event will take place in Tel Aviv.

Starting from 17:00, the following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic in both directions: from Rechavam Ze’evi Street to Shai Agnon Street, and Zaharira Charifai Street from Ibn Gabirol Street.

There may be changes and delays in bus routes and service in the area.
