Latest Festive Services Update

    First Bus Glasgow

    Sunday 31 December (Hogmanay)

    Sunday timetables will operate. *most services will be withdrawn from approx 2100hrs.

    • FREE travel will be offered on Night Bus Services N2, N18, N240 and N267 for Hogmanay celebrations. Running from Sunday late evening until early hours Monday AM.

    Monday 1 January (New Year’s Day)

    No services will operate. (except for Night Bus services operating in the early hours 1 January).

    Tuesday 2 January 2024

    Sunday timetables will operate on all services.

    McGill’s Scotland East (Midland Bluebird)

    Sunday 31st December –  Most buses will run to Sunday timetable, and some will stop early. Buses on the 7, 8, 29, 35, C11, C30, F14/F14A, F16, F25, F45, H1 and H2 won’t run. Bright Bus Tours will finish early at 3pm.

    Monday 1st January – Most buses will not run. The X38 will run a New Years timetable every 2 hours between Linlithgow and Edinburgh, supported by West Lothian Council. Bright Bus City Tour (BBT1) will be running and finish early at 3pm.

    Tuesday 2nd January – Most buses will not run. The 312 will run to Sunday timetable and the X38 will run a New Years timetable every 2 hours between Linlithgow and Edinburgh, supported by West Lothian Council. Bright Bus Tours will finish early at 3pm.

     

    Edinburgh Trams

    Tram services throughout the festive period will be as follows:

    • Sunday 31st December – New Year’s Eve): The split service will operate all day with trams running between Edinburgh Airport – West End, and Picardy Place – Newhaven from every 10 minutes. There are no trams to Princes Street or St Andrew Square stops due to the Hogmanay Street party road closures.

    • After midnight, all trams will be FREE to help everyone get home safely!

      The split service will run between West End – Airport and Picardy Place – Newhaven, serving all stops along the way.

      • Between Midnight and 2am trams will run from every 10 minutes.
      • From 2am to the normal start of service trams will run from every 20 minutes.
    • Monday 1st January 2024: The split service will continue to run with trams between Edinburgh Airport – West End, and Picardy Place – Newhaven from every 10 minutes until approx. 10am. Once the roads have reopened, a full service between Edinburgh Airport and Newhaven will resume from every 7 minutes.

      • The first full route tram to Newhaven is scheduled to leave the Airport at 09:28 and Princes Street at 09:59.
      • The first full route tram to Edinburgh Airport is scheduled to leave Newhaven at 09:40 and Princes Street at 10:03.
