Seattle – Back to School, Labor Day & Fall Service Changes

    Enjoy the last weekend of the summer! This Monday is Labor Day. Please note the following service changes:

    • King County Metro – Sunday Service
    • Sound Transit Express – Sunday Service
    • The 1 Line – Sunday Service
    • The T Line – Sunday Service
    • Sounder Commuter Rail – No Service
    • Community Transit Local & DART – Sunday Service
    • CT Commuter Service to Seattle & Northfate – No Service

    King County Metro, Sound Transit, and Community Transit are adjusting service and schedules. Moovit is updated, continue reading for details.

    On September 16th, the T-line extension will start service with 7 additional stations! Details to follow.

    King County Metro

    Starting Sept. 2, King County Metro will update transit schedules to improve schedule reliability for riders and help reduce last-minute cancellations. To better match transit service with bus and workforce availability, Metro will suspend 20 peak-only commuter routes and reduce service on 12 routes. Alternatives are available for nearly all affected routes. Most riders will see no changes as 124 of 156 routes and 92% of boardings are not affected.

    The following routes will have stop changes:

    Route 22The last trip departing 35th Avenue SW & SW Roxbury St at 9:09 pm will be extended to serve two additional stops along 26th Avenue SW, stop #85220 at SW 104th Street, and stop #85230 at SW 100th Street.
    Route 208Route 208 will now serve new bus stop #64308 in front of the Oshkosh B’gosh store at the North Bend Factory Outlet Mall, replacing stop #64305, which will close.
    Route 225Redmond Technology Station will open, and Route 225 will no longer serve the temporary stop #71339 on 156th Avenue NE but will instead serve Bay 4 (stop #71354) in the Redmond Technology Station.
    Route 249Redmond Technology Station will open, and Route 249 will no longer serve the temporary stop #71339 on 156th Avenue NE but will instead serve Bay 4 (stop #71354) in the Redmond Technology Station.
    ST Express 545On Weekdays, during morning peak periods, ST Express 545 will no longer serve stop #13460 at Bellevue Avenue & E Olive St, it will instead serve a new temporary stop eastbound on Olive Way just east of Boren Avenue.
    ST Express 566Redmond Technology Station will open, and ST Express 566 to Auburn will no longer serve Bay 8 (stop #68498) on 156th Avenue NE, it will instead serve Bay 4 (stop #71345) in the Redmond Technology Station. There is no change to the northbound stop.

     

    Sound Transit

    In order to improve connections and increase reliability, Sound Transit is making the following service changes. Changes will be implemented between September 2-4. On September 16th, the T line extension will start service with 7 additional stations! Details to follow.

    • ST Express 545 will no longer stop at Bellevue Avenue and E Olive Street in Seattle, due to changes at Pike and Pine streets in downtown Seattle. This route will use a temporary stop at Olive Way and Boren Avenue.
    • ST Express 556 will use Bay 5 and Bay 8 at Bellevue Transit Center, when traveling eastbound to Issaquah and westbound to University District, respectively.
    • ST Express 566 will use the bus loop at Redmond Technology Station and Bay 4 when traveling southbound to Auburn.
    • ST Express 574 will have minor schedule changes and an additional round trip on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

    Community Transit

    Community Transit is updating service and schedules starting September 3rd.

    On most routes, your schedule will change slightly (by 5 to 10 minutes) on weekdays. You will see more significant changes on:

    • Route 196: More trips with service every 30 minutes during peak travel times.
    • Routes 113, 130, 220, and 240: More trips. Check the route schedule for details.
    • Most routes on weekends: Significant schedule adjustments to improve connections. Be sure to check the schedule if you ride on weekends.
