Service Adjustments for this Weekend

Maintenance work over the weekend of June 17-18 to keep trains operating safely and reliably.

Highlights

• Orange, Silver and Green line trains will operate regular weekend service.
• Free shuttle buses replace Red Line trains between Shady Grove and Twinbrook due to SafeTrack Surge #16.
• Blue Line trains will operate every 20 minutes.
• Yellow Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between Huntington and Mt Vernon Sq only.

Red Line

SafeTrack Surge #16 | Line segment shutdown between Shady Grove and Twinbrook through June 25

• Free shuttle buses replace Red Line trains between Shady Grove & Twinbrook.
• Red Line trains will operate regular weekend intervals (every 12-15 minutes) between Twinbrook and Glenmont with additional trains between Grosvenor and Silver Spring 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Shady Grove and Rockville stations will be closed.
  • Users who normally use Shady Grove or Rockville are encouraged to consider starting their trip at Twinbrook, White Flint, Glenmont or Wheaton during the surge.
• In addition, on Saturday night from 8:00 p.m. until closing, trains will operate every 20-25 minutes for single tracking through Forest Glen.
  • All trains will board on the Glenmont-bound platform side.

Orange Line

• Regular weekend service

Silver Line

• Regular weekend service

Blue Line

Trains every 20 minutes | 10:00PM Friday until closing Sunday

• Single tracking between National Airport and Braddock Road to allow for rail fastener renewal.

Yellow Line

Trains every 20 minutes between Huntington & Mt Vernon Sq only | 10:00PM Friday until closing Sunday

• Single tracking between National Airport and Braddock Road to allow for rail fastener renewal.

Green Line

• Regular weekend service
• Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 p.m. until closing, trains will single track between Prince George’s Plaza and College Park to allow for communication cable installation along tunnel walls for cell phone coverage. (This is not expected to cause delays.)
