Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- Consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking, cycling and driving where possible as there will be limited space on replacement buses.
- It is strongly recommended to wear a face mask in indoor public spaces and when you can’t physically distance from others.
Metro
Friday 4 November
- From 10.30pm, no trackwork on the metro but trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line may affect how you travel.
- If you are travelling to the City change at Epping for trains to Central.
Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 November
- Metro runs between Tallawong and Macquarie Park only.
- Buses run between Macquarie University and Chatswood:
- Change at Macquarie University for buses to North Ryde or Chatswood
- Remain on the metro for Macquarie Park
- Buses also replace T1 North Shore Line trains. If you are travelling to the City change at Epping for trains to Central.
T1 North Shore Line
Hornsby lift to platforms 2 and 3 out of service
- From Tuesday 4 October to Monday 12 December, the lift servicing platforms 2 and 3 at Hornsby Station will be closed for maintenance.
Friday 4 November
- From 10.30pm, buses replace trains between Gordon and Wynyard.
- Trains run between Hornsby and Gordon, some to a changed timetable.
Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 November
- Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Wynyard.
- T9 Northern Line trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, via Strathfield.
T1 Western Line
Wednesday 2 November
- From 11pm until 1.30am, most trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood.
Friday 4 to Sunday 6 November
- From 10.30pm on Friday, Penrith trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12.
- If you are travelling to T1 North Shore Line stations change at Central for a City Circle train to Wynyard, then change for a bus.
- Saturday and Sunday, Richmond trains run between Richmond and Olympic Park only.
- Sunday from 12pm to 4pm, trains run between Richmond and Leppington only.
- Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Wednesday 2 November
- From 11pm until 1.30am, buses replace Homebush trains between Strathfield and Ashfield.
- Trains run between Ashfield and the City Circle, some to a changed timetable.
- Leppington trains make an extra stop at Homebush but will not stop at Ashfield.
Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 November
- Homebush trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park.
- Extra trains also run between Ashfield and the City, continuing to Kingsgrove via the Airport.
- Sunday from 5.30am until 9.40am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
T3 Bankstown Line
Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 November
- Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham.
- Trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park, stopping all stations to Lidcombe and the City Circle.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Monday 31 October to Thursday 3 November
- Nightly from 10pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla or Waterfall and North Sydney.
- Trackwork buses do not leave from Martin Place Station. Buses leave from nearby bus stops or you can catch the light rail to Town Hall or Central.
Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 November
- All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
- Saturday from 8am until 8pm, extra trains run between Hurstville and Bondi Junction.
Sunday 6 to Tuesday 8 November
- Nightly from 9.40pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland.
- Trains run between Waterfall, Sutherland and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable.
T5 Cumberland Line
Sunday 6 November
- From 5.30am until 9.40am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
- From 9.40am until 11.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Granville, and between Schofields and Olympic Park.
T8 Airport & South Line
Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 November
- Extra trains run between Kingsgrove and the City via the Airport, continuing to Ashfield.
T9 Northern Line

Saturday 5 November
- From 9pm until 3am, buses replace trains from Newcastle Interchange to Telarah.
- From 9.45pm until 3am, buses replace trains from Telarah to Newcastle Interchange.
South Coast Line
Monday 31 October to Thursday 3 November
- Nightly from 10pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and the City Circle.
