Key Service Updates for WMATA
On Thanksgiving Day (Thursday):
Metrorail trains every ~8-15 minutes, depending on the line.
- Red Line: Trains every 10 minutes
- Blue Line: Trains every 15 minutes
- Silver Line: Trains every 15 minutes between Ashburn – Stadium Armory, and every 30 minutes east of Stadium Armory on both branches
- Orange Line:Â Trains every 15 minutes
- Yellow Line: Trains every 8 minutes
- Green Line: Trains every 8 minutes
Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule (service varies by route).
Parking at Metro-owned lots/garages will be free for the holiday.
On Friday the system returns to normal weekday service.
Travel Tips
If heading to the airport (Reagan National / Dulles), the Metro provides convenient access via Blue/Yellow (Reagan) and Silver (Dulles).
Plan ahead, especially for bus trips—some routes will have altered timings.
