Previously announced train service changes start this week.
These changes include shorter operating hours on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays; full-day closure on 2 Sundays; and full closure between Joo Koon & Gul Circle.
Here is what you need to know for this week.
Dec 8 (Friday)
Train services at 19 stations end at 11pm. Stations affected are:
- EWL: from Tiong Bahru to Tuas Link
- NSL: Bukit Batok and Bukit Gombak
Dec 9 (Saturday)
Train services at 19 stations will start later at 8am and end at 11pm. Stations affected are:
- EWL: from Tiong Bahru to Tuas Link
- NSL: Bukit Batok and Bukit Gombak
Commuters can take parallel bus services – which run along the MRT network – outside MRT stations. The fare will be the same as the train journey.
Dec 10 (Sunday)
Train services at 19 stations will be fully closed. Stations affected are:
- EWL: from Tiong Bahru to Tuas Link
- NSL: Bukit Batok and Bukit Gombak
Parallel shuttle bus services will be available. And fare will be the same as the train journey.
In addition, there is no train services between Joo Koon and Gul Circle stations until mid-2018.
You will have to alight at either stop and take a free shuttle bus to the other station in order to continue. The same fare will be charged as if you have taken a train straight through.
