As much as we rely on public transportation to get around our cities, there are times when it’s quicker to get where you’re going in a car. So, to provide you with even more freedom in deciding how you want to get from point A to point B, today we’re launching a partnership with Uber in 22 countries worldwide.
Where available, you’ll be able to seamlessly plan your journeys using a combination of options such as local buses, trains, bikesharing services and Uber, all from within the app from both a dedicated button on the home screen and within the trip-planning module. If your preferred method of public transportation is delayed or obstructed by traffic, you can use the Uber integration as a substitute for your usual route, or as part of it (for example, to get to the train station faster than your usual bus might get you there).
The integration has been available in Los Angeles, New York, London and Rome for the past few months, and will now be expanding to 127 more cities. See the full list of cities below.
