    Heavy snow and torrential downpour lashings!

    Crazy weather on Easter Monday caused roads to be shut and parts of the country due to floods.

    175 flood alerts and 19 flood warnings have been issued by the Environment Agency as forecasters warn of treacherous conditions and travel disruption.

    Several sporting fixtures on Easter Monday are abandoned. Due to water flooded train lines in Yorkshire, there are disrupted services.

    Floods predicted in parts of southern England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Up to 12cm of snow forecast across parts of northern England and southern Scotland.

    Temperatures dipped as low as -7C in the Scottish Highlands overnight. Torrential rain moved in from the south and west amid milder conditions.

    Most of Wales, England and Northern Ireland is covered by a yellow warning for heavy rain, with up to 70mm expected to fall in some areas.
