    Metro Service Information 

    Metro Highlights:

    • The system will open at 7 a.m. and close at midnight.
    • Trains will operate on a Sunday schedule.
    • Off-peak fares will be in effect all day, and parking will be free at all Metrorail parking facilities.
    • Take note of scheduled service adjustments on the Red, Orange, Silver, Blue and Yellow lines (below.)
    • Metrobus: Buses will operate on a Sunday schedule.

    Red Line

    • Buses replace trains between Brookland and NoMa-Gallaudet (7:00 am, Saturday until closing Monday)
    • Red Line trains will operate in two segments:
      • Between Shady Grove & NoMa-Gallaudet every 10 minutes
      • Between Brookland & Glenmont every 15 minutes
    • Rhode Island Avenue station will be closed.
    • Limited free shuttle buses provide service to Rhode Island Avenue from  Brookland-CUA and NoMa-Gallaudet U (please add 12-15 minutes of travel time.)
    • Red Line users are encouraged to avoid shuttle buses by transferring to Green Line trains at Gallery Place and Fort Totten.
    • Metro recommends using shuttles only for travel to/from Rhode Island Avenue.

    Orange Line

    • SafeTrack Surge 15Line segment shut down between Stadium-Armory and New Carrollton
    • Orange Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between Vienna and Largo Town Center.
    • New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood and Minnesota Avenue stations are closed.

    Silver Line

    • SafeTrack Surge 15 : Trains every 20 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East and Stadium-Armory only
    • Silver Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East and Stadium-Armory only.
    • Users traveling to/from other stations should use Orange or Blue line trains to complete their trip.
      • At Stadium-Armory, transfer between Silver and Orange/Blue line trains on the same platform.

    Blue Line

    • Trains every 20 minutes (10:00 pmFriday until closing Monday)
    • Single tracking between National Airport and Braddock Road to allow for rail fastener renewal.
    • Single tracking between Addison Road and Largo Town Center to allow for radio cable installation for cell phone coverage (Friday – Sunday 10:00 pm until closing)

    Yellow Line

    • Trains every 20 minutes between Huntington & Mt. Vernon Sq only  (10:00 pm Friday until closing Monday)
    • Single tracking between National Airport and Braddock Road to allow for rail fastener renewal.
    • All trains will operate to/from Mt. Vernon Square rather than Fort Totten.
      • Users traveling to/from stations north of Mt. Vernon Square should use a Green Line train to complete their trip.

    Green Line

    • Regular weekend service
    •  10:00 pm Friday until closing Monday
