Weekend Service Adjustments

Highlights

• Red Line trains will operate every 9-18 minutes
• Orange, Silver, Blue, and Yellow line trains will operate every 26 minutes.
  • Silver Line trains operate between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only.
  • Yellow Line trains operate between Huntington and Mt Vernon Sq only.
• Green Line trains will operate every 18 minutes.

July 4 (Independence Day)

• There will be no scheduled Metrorail maintenance on Tuesday, July 4, and regular service will operate on all lines.

Red Line

Trains every 9-18 minutes | 7:00 am Saturday until closing Sunday

• Red Line trains will operate between Shady Grove & Glenmont every 18 minutes with additional trains between Grosvenor & Silver Spring 9:00AM and 9:00PM.
• Single tracking between Grosvenor and Twinbrook to allow for rail, tie and fastener renewal.

Orange Line

Trains every 26 minutes | 7:00 am Saturday until closing Sunday

• Single tracking between Foggy Bottom and Clarendon to allow for grout pad and fastener renewal.

Silver Line

Trains every 26 minutes Wiehle-Reston East to Ballston only | 7:00 am Saturday until closing Sunday

• Silver Line trains will operate between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only to coordinate with work on the Orange and Blue lines.
• Users traveling to/from other stations should use Orange and Blue line trains to complete their trip.
• At Ballston, transfer between Silver and Orange Line trains on the same platform.

Blue Line

Trains every 26 minutes | 7:00 am Saturday until closing Sunday

• Single tracking between Foggy Bottom and Arlington Cemetery to allow for grout pad and fastener renewal.

Yellow Line

Trains every 26 minutes Huntington to Mt Vernon Sq only | 7:00 am Saturday until closing Sunday.

• Trains will operate between Huntington and Mt Vernon Sq only to coordinate with work on the Blue and Green lines.
• Users traveling to/from stations north of Mt. Vernon Square should use a Green Line train to complete their trip.

Green Line

Trains every 18 minutes | 7:00 am Saturday until closing Sunday.

• Single tracking between Georgia Ave-Petworth and Fort Totten to allow for communication cable installation along tunnel walls for cell phone coverage.
