Metrorail Rebuilding

    Metrorail reconstruction continues Sunday through Thursday this week with service adjustments beginning each night at 10 p.m from April 22 –  24.

    Red Line


    Trains every 18 minutes | 12:01AM Saturday until closing Sunday
    Single tracking between Van Ness and Dupont Circle to allow for rail, fastener and insulator renewal.

    Orange Line


    Trains every 20 minutes | 12:01AM Saturday until closing Sunday
    Single tracking between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory to allow for grout pad rehabilitation, joint elimination, rail, fastener and insulator renewal.

    Silver Line


    Trains every 10 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East & Ballston only | 12:01AM until closing Sunday
    Silver Line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only. Customers traveling to/from other stations should use Orange and/or Blue line trains to complete their trip. At Ballston, transfer between Silver and Orange line trains on the same platform.

    Blue Line


    Trains every 20 minutes | 12:01AM Saturday until closing Sunday
    Single tracking between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory to allow for grout pad rehabilitation, joint elimination, rail, fastener and insulator renewal.

    Green Line


    Buses replace trains at Greenbelt Station only | 12:01AM Saturday until closing Sunday
    Throughout the weekend, Green Line service will operate at regular weekend intervals between College Park and Branch Ave stations. On Saturday and Sunday, buses will replace trains between College Park & Greenbelt to allow for pedestrian bridge replacement and construction of a new test track to accept Metro’s new fleet of 7000-series railcars. Free shuttle buses will run between College Park and Greenbelt.
