Reconstruction of the Metrorail system will continue over the weekend of February 26-28 with service adjustments on all six lines. Trains will operate as follows:
Red Line
Trains every 12-24 minutes | 12:01AM Saturday until Closing Sunday
Single tracking between Friendship Heights & Grosvenor to allow for rail renewal and joint elimination.
Red Line trains will operate:
- Between Shady Grove & Glenmont every 24 minutes
- Between Farragut North & Glenmont every 12-13 minutes from 9AM to 9PM.
Orange Line
Trains every 20 minutes | 7:00AM Saturday until closing Sunday
Single tracking between Eastern Market & Stadium-Armory to allow for rail fastener renewal.
Silver Line
Trains every 10 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East & Ballston only | 7:00AM Saturday until closing Sunday
Silver Line trains will operate every 10 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only. Customers traveling to/from other stations should use Orange and/or Blue line trains to complete their trip. At Ballston, transfer between Silver and Orange line trains on the same platform.
Blue Line
Trains every 20 minutes | 7:00AM Saturday until closing Sunday
Single tracking between Eastern Market & Stadium-Armory to allow for rail fastener renewal.
Yellow Line
Regular weekend service between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Sq only | 10:00PM Friday until closing Sunday
Yellow Line trains will operate regular weekend intervals between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Sq only to coordinate with work on the Blue and Green Lines. Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt. Vernon Sq should use a Green Line train to complete their trip.
Green Line
Trains every 24 minutes | 10:00PM Friday until closing Sunday
Single tracking between U Street & Fort Totten to allow for rail fastener renewal, joint elimination and switch replacement.
