    Public Transport Changes for London


    Circle Line

    Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May, there will be no service on the entire line

    District Line

    Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May, there will be no service between South Kensington and East Ham. Replacement buses will operate

    Hammersmith & City Line

    Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May, no service between Baker Street and Barking. Replacement buses operate east of Aldgate East

    Metropolitan Line

    Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May, there will be no service between Baker Street and Aldgate.

    Overground

    On Sunday 12 May, there will be no service between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace / West Croydon, and no service between Willesden Junction and Richmond. Replacement buses operate.Until further notice, reduced service between Gospel Oak and Barking. A temporary timetable is in place, with four car trains running every 30 minutes. Supplementary bus services will also run.

    DLR

    Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May, no service between Westferry and Island Gardens via Canary Wharf due to maintenance work. A replacement bus will operate.

     

    Station closures


    Whitechapel Station – Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May, the station is closed. This includes the Friday Overnight London Overground service. Please use local buses to/from Shoreditch High Street and/or Shadwell instead.

     

    National Rail updates for London and the South East


    c2c

    Bridge and tunnel maintenance and work on the signalling equipment is taking place between Barking and London Liverpool Street, closing all lines. Engineering work is also taking place between Barking and Grays via Rainham

    As a result of the line closures, the following alterations will apply:

    • Trains will not run between Barking and London Fenchurch Street. Trains that usually run between Shoeburyness and London Fenchurch Street will be diverted to run to / from London Liverpool Street.
    • c2c services that usually run to and from London Liverpool Street will be retimed.
    • Trains between Southend Central and London Liverpool Street will be amended to run between Southend Central and Grays only.
    • Trains between Grays and London Fenchurch Street will be amended to run between Grays and Upminster via Ockendon.
    • Buses will replace trains between Grays and Barking via Rainham.

    To help complete your journey, you may use your ticket to travel on:

    • Docklands Light Railway services between Stratford, Poplar, Limehouse and Tower Gateway
    • London Underground District Line services between Upminster, Barking and Tower Hill / West Ham
    • London Underground Jubilee Line services between West Ham and Stratford

    ChilternRailways

    No trains to / from Wembley Stadium on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May

    All weekend, there will be NO trains to / from Wembley Stadium.A heavily amended Chiltern Railways service will run between Oxford, Birmingham, Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa and London Marylebone.Services will be cancelled, diverted via an alternative route or amended to start / terminate at a different station than usual. Journey times will be significantly extended and you may need to use a replacement bus service or London Underground services to complete your journey

    Amended 01:10 London Marylebone to Oxford service on Saturday 11 May

    The 01:10 London Marylebone to Oxford service will be replaced by a bus.

    East Midlands Trains

    Buses replace trains between Bedford and Corby on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May
    • An amended timetable will be in operation, with reduced service frequency and extended journey times.
    • Trains will run between London St Pancras International and Bedford and then between Corby to Nottingham / Sheffield.
    • Rail Replacement buses will operate between Bedford and Corby

    Greater Anglia

    Buses replace trains between Shenfield and Southend Victoria / Southminster on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May. 

    No trains between Stratford and Tottenham Hale until 18:00 on Sunday 12 May. Until approximately 18:00, all services between Hertford East and Stratford will be diverted to start / terminate at London Liverpool Street, calling additionally at Hackney Downs

    GreatNorthern

    No trains to / from London Kings Cross before 08:45 on Sunday 12 May. Trains that usually run to / from London Kings Cross will instead run to / from Finsbury Park. 

    Buses replace trains between Ely and Kings Lynn on Sunday 12 May

    Great Western Railway

    Buses replace trains between Maidenhead and Marlow from 23:00 until the end of service on Saturday 11 May

    Engineering work is taking place between Maidenhead and Bourne End, closing the line from 23:00 on Saturday 11 May until 08:00 on Sunday 12 May.The following services will be replaced by road transport:

    • 23:17 Marlow to Maidenhead, terminates at Bourne End, bus forward.
    • 23:44 Maidenhead to Marlow
    • 00:10 (Sunday) Marlow to Maidenhead
    Buses replace evening / morning trains to / from Burnham / Taplow on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May
    Saturday evening:
    • After 22:45, trains will not call at Burnham or Taplow. This includes the 00:05 (Sunday) London Paddington to Reading service.
    • Replacement buses will run between Slough and Burnham / Taplow to connect with train services.
    Sunday:
    • Please note that Taplow does not have a Sunday train service, so no replacement buses will call at Pangbourne all day.
    • The 06:20 Reading to London Paddington service will not run.
    • The 06:45 London Paddington to Reading service will not run.
    • The 07:32 Reading to London Paddington service will not run.
    • The 22:50 onwards, trains will not call at Burnham. Replacement buses will run between Slough and Burnham
    Buses replace evening / morning trains to / from Pangbourne on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May

    Engineering work is taking place between Reading and Didcot Parkway, closing some lines on Saturday evening, Sunday morning and Sunday evening.The following trains will not call at Pangbourne:Saturday evening:

    • 22:12 London Paddington to Didcot Parkway.
    • 22:43 London Paddington to Didcot Parkway.
    • 22:56 Didcot Parkway to London Paddington.
    • 23:20 London Paddington to Didcot Parkway.
    • 23:49 Didcot Parkway to London Paddington.

    Sunday morning:

    • 07:29 London Paddington to Didcot Parkway.

    Sunday evening:

    • 22:15 London Paddington to Didcot Parkway.
    • 22:45 London Paddington to Didcot Parkway.
    • 23:15 Didcot Parkway to London Paddington.
    • 23:53 Didcot Parkway to London Paddington.

    Replacement buses will run between Tilehurst and Pangbourne, connecting with train services.

    Southeastern

    Buses replace trains between Lewisham and Dartford via Bexleyheath on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May
    The following alterations will apply:-

    Bexleyheath Line

    • Buses replace trains between Lewisham and Dartford via Bexleyheath all weekend.
    • London Victoria to Gravesend services will be diverted to Sidcup on Saturday and run between Victoria and Sidcup.
    • London Victoria to Dartford services will run through to Dartford on Sunday, and are diverted to run via Sidcup.

    Woolwich Line

    • London Cannon Street to Barnehurst services & Slade Green to London Cannon St services will not run.
    • On Sunday, London Charing Cross to Dartford services will start from London Cannon Street, and are diverted to run via Greenwich.

    Sidcup Line

    • On Saturday, London Charing Cross to Dartford via Sidcup services will not run, and London Victoria to Gravesend services will run via the Sidcup line instead, running between London Victoria and Sidcup (will not run between Sidcup & Gravesend).
    • On Sunday, London Victoria to Dartford services will run via Sidcup, calling at all stations. Also on Sunday, London Charing Cross to Gravesend services will be retimed and call additionally at Lewisham.
    Buses replace trains between Faversham and Ramsgate on Sunday 12 May
    No trains at Hastings on Sunday 12 May

    Southeastern buses will replace trains between Robertsbridge and Hastings. As a result of limited road access, a minibus service will run between Battle and Crowhurst.

    Amended service through Bromley South on Sunday 12 May
    • Sole Street Line – London Victoria to Ramsgate, Dover Priory & Canterbury East services will be diverted via an alternative route between London Victoria, St Mary Cray & Swanley, not calling at Bromley South. These trains will also be affected by engineering work between Faversham and Ramsgate. Customers travelling between Bromley South & Faversham / Maidstone East and beyond should use the replacement buses between Bromley South & Swanley to connect to the train service. (These buses are supplied by Thameslink between Herne Hill – Swanley services via Catford and Bromley South).
    • Maidstone East – London Victoria to Canterbury West services will be diverted via an alternative route between London Victoria, St Mary Cray & Swanley, not calling at Bromley South.
    • Bromley South – London Victoria to Orpington services will be replaced by buses between Beckenham Junction & Orpington

     

    South Western Railway

    Buses replace trains between New Malden and Shepperton / Twickenham on Sunday 12 May

    As a result, buses will replace trains between:

    • New Malden and Shepperton.
    • New Malden and Twickenham.

    Services that run between London Waterloo and Kingston will be amended to run between London Waterloo and Hounslow. Services running to / from Windsor & Eton Riverside will be retimed, and London Waterloo circular services will be amended to run between London Waterloo and Hampton Court, calling additionally at Surbiton.

     

    Southern

    No Southern trains between Shepherds Bush and Watford Junction after 17:45 on Saturday 11 May. 

    • Customers should use alternative Southern services to and from London Victoria, London Underground between London Victoria and London Euston, and London Northwestern Railway between London Euston and Watford Junction / Milton Keynes Central

    Buses replace trains between Purley and Caterham until 07:15 on Sunday 12 May. 

    Buses replace trains between Three Bridges and Billingshurst on Sunday 12 May.

    Buses will replace trains between New Cross Gate and West Croydon on Sunday 12 May. Customers should use London Buses and London Underground between London Bridge and New Cross Gate via Canada Water. 

    No trains at Hastings on Sunday 12 May. Southern buses will replace trains between Eastbourne / Bexhill / Ore / Ashford International.

     

    Thameslink

    Buses replace trains between Bedford and Luton from 23:00 Saturday 11 to 07:45 Sunday 12 May.

    No trains to / from London Kings Cross before 08:45 on Sunday 12 May. Trains that usually run to / from London Kings Cross will instead run to / from Finsbury Park.

    Buses replace trains to / from Kentish Town until 09:15 on Sunday 12 May. As a result, trains will not be able to call at Kentish Town. Replacement buses will run between West Hampstead Thameslink and London St Pancras International, calling at Kentish Town.Buses replace trains between Three Bridges and Billingshurst on Sunday 12 May

    Buses replace trains between Bedford and Luton from 23:00 Saturday 11 to 07:45 Sunday 12 May.

    Trains between Bedford and Brighton are diverted between London Blackfriars and East Croydon and will not call at London Bridge on Sunday 12 May. Customers should use London Buses and London Underground between London Blackfriars and London Bridge / East Croydon on any reasonable route to complete their journey.

    Amended service through Bromley South on Sunday 12 May. Buses will replace trains between Bromley South and Swanley
