Weekend Update (5/11/2020)

November 5, 2020

    Weekend Updates

Do take note of this weekend’s planned disruption so you can know where to avoid while heading out!

    Here are the changes:

    1) Post-COVID19 Circuit Breaker Period – Changes to public transport services

We had entered Post-Covid19 Circuit Break Period since 2nd June. As a result, 18 routes from Franchised Bus Service, Express Bus Services, Night Buses and Chinatown Direct Bus Service that are catered for recreational demand will continue to be suspended. More details on the suspension can be found here.

    2) Early Closure & Late Opening of Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL)

To facilitate additional engineering hours to prepare the upcoming TEL Stage 2 which is scheduled to open later in the year, the Thomson-East Coast Line will end its service earlier at around 9.00 pm every day until 31 December to facilitate additional hours to test the systems in preparation of the opening of TEL Stage 2.

Apart from that, Thomson-East Coast Line will now start operating later at around 6.30 am every Saturdays and Sundays until 27 December 2020.

    3) Temporary merger of bus stops along Thomson Road

From 8th November 2020 (Sunday), 2 bus stop, 51041 – SLF Cplx & 51031 – S’pore Polo Club, will be temporarily merged and relocated down 50meters from original S’pore Polo Club’s location to accommodate construction works of North-South Corridor.

    4) Recovery Movement Restriction Order in Malaysia

The land border between Malaysia and Singapore on the Johor Causeway had officially reopened this week. However, travelers are required to obtain My Travel Pass Reciprocal Green Lane / Periodic Commuting Arrangement before proceeding their journey toward Malaysia. More information on My Travel Pass and it’s requirements can be obtained via the Malaysian Immigration Department’s microsite.

State Government of Johor, via its entity Pengangkutan Awam Johor (PAJ) had arranged a shuttle service to pick up travelers entering Malaysia or Singapore on the Johor Causeway.

Service Details: Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (CIQ), Johor Bahru – Woodlands CIQ, Singapore
    Operating Hour: 7.30 am – 12.30pm, 2.30pm – 6.30pm (11 trips daily)
